5 things I learned in 2023 that helped me get my first 6 figure year in my videography business.

1. Sales and Marketing 📲
Learning how to be creative can only get you so far. Eventually you need to graduate into learning the art of selling yourself.

2. Offer more help 🤝
You can only raise your prices if you offer to help more. Raising your rates without offering more will result in someone just looking for the cheaper option.

3. Niching Down ▼
I'm still trying to figure this out in my business, but I've learned that I can't deliver the same quality of results for everybody without tons of resources. Niching down simplifies the process.

4. Delegating 💻
To scale my business, I couldn't possibly do all of it on my own. Hiring help allows you to take on more tasks more efficiently.

5. Hire Coaches 🧠
Lastly, I wouldn't have been able to learn what I learned as quickly as I did without help. I've invested over $16,000 in coaching to help grow my business faster. No piece of gear will give you a bigger ROI than learning from people way ahead of you.

What I personally do to stay productive...

1. Wake up earlier, earn an extra hour. Instead of waking up later in the day when everyone else is working, waking up earlier and easing yourself into the day helps you gain more time for things you like doing. Whether that's a walk, exercise, or working more with less distractions.

2. Screen Time. If you feel like you still don't have time in the day, look at "Screen Time" and see how much time is spent mindlessly using other apps, that's time that can be earned back.

3. Delegate tasks to freelancers. Hiring outside help allows you to leverage other people's time and get more tasks done at once. You could move at the pace of multiple people, instead of the pace of one.

There are some days where the long hours, troubling clients, late night editing all start to catch up to you.

But remind yourself about your why?

Why do you want to be creative?

Is it to not work 9-5? Is it to have more freedom? More meaningful work?

Questions like these help center me and remind me why it is that I choose to do this everyday.

It helps refocus my mind for the bigger picture.
