This is gonna be a good one in the capital city, get to The Lost Well and check out Runescarred before they go on the extended live show hiatus, hopefully not the last time we see them live but things go as they will. Another good show to tell you about Metalheads!! Austin, TX and Central Texas, Come and Take It Live has a good one tomorrow night January, 20 with a show featuring one of the best metal bands in Austin, TX right now; Death Of A Dream in the headlining spot and news is they will be performing some new material. The show will also feature a good showcase of Texas based bands; All Falls Down out of Lubbock, TX, and out of Austin, TX AAerial , Prophecy of the Martyr and Shadow Ministry .
This should be a good one so if you want to hear some heavy music get on down to Come And Take It Live on Riverside Dr. in the capital city and support the heavy metal scene 🤘🤘

Central Texas and Austin metalheads... There is a good show coming up soon in Austin, TX featuring local dudes Runescarred in one of the last live performances they will do for a long time. Also on the bill is Austin TX rippers IGNITOR featuring Jason McMasters (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys, Broken Teeth, Gahdzilla Motor Company).The capital city will be rocking at The Lost Well on February 3rd so get out and support some strong acts as well as the local scene.

Here's some end of the year fun.
Lists are all the norm for most of the fanzines and webzines around this time. I didn't have a chance to hear a lot of full albums this year, they started coming out pretty heavy towards the end of 2023 while most of us were still catching up on new material that was released in 2022.
So we saw something different and we would like to see the interesting responses you people out there come up with. Just copy the categories with your own answers in the comments. Hopefully my Volume 11 partner in crime jumps on board and lists his choices, in all the years we've know each other I don't think I have ever asked him what his first show was. Most Surprising Show: GWAR, the Scumdogs tour, first time seeing them and I had no idea what to expect other than that they wore costumes on stage.

Last night was a good one thrashers. Volume 11 and a good crowd of punks, metalheads and thrashers made it out to Come and Take It Live in Austin, TX for the 40th Anniversary Tour of D.R.I . They played a full 90-minute set and covered all the albums with their setlist. Even though the venue is not that big the pit action got fierce at times and every song had pit fiends out doing their thing. D.R.I. sounded great, they have not lost a step in 40 years. I'm glad I made it out on a work night and I had no regrets this morning because the show was that good.

At Come and Take It Live in Austin, TX tonight. The band Deathwish WI out of Wisconsin just tore the crowd up with some slamming speed metal and has everyone in the mood for headliners D.R.I . Deathwish sounded great, very tight and had a great crowd response. Good heavy set from these guys. Check them out metalheads 🤘🤘

Next up in Austin,TX tonight was the hardcore punk attack from local boys Worm Su***de & The Devil Club (it's just Worm Su***de but everytime I typed su***de FB asked if I needed help and recommended pages and numbers I could call for help. Anyway....)
These guys are one of the better punk bands in Austin, if you like the stylings of Verbal Abuse, Exploited, early Suicidal Tendencies and other punk bands like that then you will probably like Worm Su***de. They have a good sense of humor up on the stage and know how to work a crowd. Good response to their set. Check them out, I believe you can find them on the usual streaming platforms 🤘🤘

Volume 11 got out tonight in Austin, TX to check out the D.R.I show. A few Austin bands were selected to be the openers for the show. Got to Come and Take It Live in time to see Austin rockers Brewtality, Inc. rip up a good set of hard rock/thrash with some West Coast punk sounds thrown in for good measure. Good clean vocals with some powerhouse guitar and bass playing. They rocked 🤘🤘

The other band Volume 11 got out to see in Austin, TX last night was the Austin based trio KNIVES. These guys have a good hard rock/metal groove to their songs. It was good to hear lead vocalist/bassist Joe Carriero let go and open up with his singing. Very clean vocals that match with the band very well. Guitarist Joe Halfmann is one of the better guitarist that I have heard around the Austin area recently. And drummer Todd Williams slams those skins with a purpose and keeps the band in time and sounding tight. A good hard rocking set last night, the small crowd at Anderson Mill Pub responded with energy. Check out KNIVES if they are playing anywhere near you or find their stuff in the streaming platforms, they are well worth a listen.

Got out to see some local Austin, Texas bands tonight. First up was This Party Sucks and they didn't suck. In fact they were damn good. They hit us up with some really good garage/crossover punk/thrash metal. They rocked. Check them out metalheads 🤘🤘

Band is called UNDEATH out of New York. Slamming!! Some good straight up Death metal. The guitar tone and sound reminds me of Cannibal Co**se but Undeath is not a clone. Good way to start the show tonight 🤘🤘

New track from Mick Mars came out about 9 hours ago. Click on the link below to check out the video for the single "Loyal to the Lie".

Mick Mars finished up his work on the much anticipated (by some) album which will be titled "The Other Side of Mars" and is scheduled for release on February 23, 2024.
Mick Mars put together a talented team of rock musicians to contribute their talents in making the album consisting of former WINGER and Alice Cooper keyboardist Paul Taylor, KORN drummer Ray Luzier, bass duties were handled by Nashville session player Chris Collier who also engineered and mixed the album. The vocals are courtesy of a guy named Jacob Bunton and he has a voice, which are put to good use in the first single.
Longtime CRUE fans should be pleased to see that Mick Mars brought on German producer and engineer Michael Wagener; he engineered and mixed Motley Crue's 1st album "Too Fast For Love".
Mick's first single is very good and hooks the listener in pretty quickly. It's a rocker, exactly what we at Volume 11 were hoping for from Mick Mars. Take a watch and a listen, we hope you headbangers dig it.
