We often shy away from contemplating the mysteries of life and death. However, there's one special season when we boldly embrace these notions, when we willingly immerse ourselves in eerie enchantment, and curiously explore the realms of the departed and the enigmatic wonders that lie beyond.💀

The two regrets that hit me the hardest when I first hear of the death of a loved one are:

1) I shouldn’t have let so much time go by since I connected with them last
2) There was so much we didn’t get to say

And so, I decided to make a list.

A list of everyone I loved, that if gone tomorrow, I knew I would feel a deep sense of regret on the distance we’d had and the conversations we’d never get. I also wanted all those I loved to be left with a “last encounter” that gave them peace if I were to die first.

Realizing that I don’t get to choose how much time I have to make it through the list I ordered it in ways that made sense to my heart and the patterns death seems to take.

The task of writing the list was one of the most painful experiences to work through.

Working my way through it has been one of the most meaningful activities of my life.
