“Here we go, kids.

Breathe in a lungful of petrol fumes

and take flight, high on fossil fuels.

Scatter now, travel is cheap - but it won’t be forever.

What if we are the last airborne generation?”

The NOMADOLOGY project was an online literary project which explored the early potential of blog software to give artists and writers an opportunity to contribute to a collective online portal to publish stories, poetry, art and photography from anywhere in the world. Conceived by cross-media artists Timothy Parish & Nic Low, NOMADOLOGY took place from 2005 - 2009. During this time it involved over 30 regular writers and artists with a total of 674 individual entries that mapped the psychogeography of the early 21st century.

Many of the writers involved in the NOMADOLOGY have gone on to prove themselves as a unique and prolific voices in their generation some have gone on to publish other books including Beth Sometimes (FROM SOMETIMES, LOVE BETH - Affirm Press), Tom Doig (MORON TO MORON, THE COAL FACE & VILLAWOOD - Allen & Unwin), Kelly-Lee Hickey (Winner of the Australia Slam Poetry Finals 2011), Rak Razam (AYA AWAKENINGS - Icaro Press), Miles Allinson - (The Fever of Animals & Moonland - Scribe Publications) & Laura Jean McKay - HOLIDAY IN CAMBODIA (Black Ink Press) & THE ANIMALS IN THAT COUNTRY - winner of the Victorian Prize for Literature and the Arthur C. Clarke Award), Nic Low (ARMS RACE - Text Publishing) and Timothy Parish (PORTALS: Tales from The Undergrowth).

The idea that gave birth to You follows us all throughout our riverine currency, dances within whirlpool and waterfall, carried upon raindrop and thunderstorm pregnant with electric promise of flash floods upon the wordless city of experience.

The womb that sheltered Her lives deep beneath our earthen soil mountainous, hiding in caverns and canyons, the living dirt and dusted tombs filled with treasures undiscovered by the plundering of philosophical pirates who stole meaning and left the absence of mystery in their shipwreck’s wake.

The seed that planted Him is carried upon your skyward messenger, surfing oceans of oxygen, windmills catching the cyclonic spirit cocktail. Potent as the tadpole metaphor, the chrysalis and cocoon. Passionate as the tongue tasting scent
of pheromone under midnight’s forever on heat.

The dream that calls Us forward reaches across the eon of blood and bone, breaks through the age of stone and wood and shatters the era of metal and circuitry. It whispers beyond radio telemetry, screams over the digital binary and heals the silence of extinction.

It is more than we can ever name and number.

It is less than every atom in the soup of flaming sun. .

It is what you never could be and all that you must become.

And it Loves you.

"One of the best things I find about creating music videos is the opportunity to work with talented artists and channel their creative vision into works that resonate beyond my own personal creative vectors. Each collaboration is like prism through which the shining light of imagination is refracted into a vibrant spectrum of cinematic sculpture. Each of these projects is an experiment in channeling collective consciousness into something that is beyond me, beyond the music, and beyond the sum of its parts.

Everyone x Everything = Art."

"The path we follow has been drawn with a thousand steps. It winds through the bush like a conversation. Descends the hill in zigzag dialogues. Reaches the cliff at the end of a sentence. Curling around the rock face following million-year-old sidewalks, we hug its curved architecture of sedimentary layers. Duck through arches carved by ancient seas and past temples consecrated by recent new age pilgrims with crystal and incense, following a hand drawn treasure map.

I’ve just spent ten days in silence and I am still trying to figure out a way to put words to the wordless space I found. How would a bird describe swimming in oceans of oxygen to a fish?

I am still a fish, but I have memories of being a bird.

Does that make sense?

Let me tell you where I’m coming from..."

If words are a virus, the act of writing allows each of us to influence the evolution of the organism. We play games with words, juggling and shuffling them like chromosomes in the cosmic pool of intellect. We sculpt rain cloud poems or oceanic novels from their water molecules weaving strings of sentence in narrative and paint pictures with their pixels in the space between the letters of the alphabet.

"I began UNDERGROWTH many years ago as an art collective when I was living and studying in Melbourne’s fertile crescent. The name was inspired by a zine called The Oracle: Tales from the Undergrowth, which I had published and distributed at the National Young Writers Festival in Newcastle in 2003.

It was there that I met the unique, creative genius known as Rak Razam, who saw the potential in the concept of a title I had not yet imagined. A few weeks later on a mushroom finding expedition Rak asked me if he could utilise that name for a project he was concocting, bringing together artists, writers musicians, filmmakers from across Australia into a magazine. I told him “On one condition - as long as I was involved in.” Thus became our creative partnership that lasted for the next decade."

MOTION PIXELS ONE: VERB STUDIOS
A retrospective in showreels.

"I’ve been making art ever since I could chew on a crayon. Fuelled by a childhood passion for comics and encouraged by a father who wished he could have explored his own creativity more, I was that kid always doodling over his textbooks, on my desk and in a hundred scribble filled sketchbooks.

The first film I ever made was a time-lapse animation when I was about 11 years old. I used the old school VHS video camera to film myself drawing my childhood superhero creation “The Edge” over half an hour, and then sped the footage up. The effect absolutely mesmerised me. I loved the ability to transform the act of creation by compressing time into a motion graphic artwork. We didn’t have any editing software but I would just show this to my friends and family proudly like it was a private viewing of a film premiere. In some ways I’ve never stopped doing this."

CELEBRATE REVOLUTION!

Today I am launching a new project that has been fermentingfor a while on my to do list... I've been searching for a way to be able to collate many years of work across a wide range of mediums into one location. I've lived most of my life in the creative everpresent - moving from project to the next without properly archiving my art. Over time, the concept of uploading this body of work has become so intimidating I didn't even know where to begin. But as they say, a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, and so this is the first step.

If you're interested to know what's next on this journey, I welcome you to join me away in a more appropriate venue than this voracious social media machine. ,'ll be regularly adding art, writing, poetry, films, comics and other reflections on the last two decades of my creative journey. I'll also be using this as the headquarters to share new work and previews of upcoming projects which I am excited to share with the world.

To love & eternal revolution.

Contemplations: On the Psychedelic Experience is available now on Amazon to watch globally.

This feature documentary explores the farthest reaches of altered states, through some of the most honest accounts of full spectrum psychedelic experience ever documented in Australia (and possibly anywhere).

The director and my co-producer Julian Palmer who conducted the interviews is infamous for pioneering the smoking blend known as changa almost two decades ago. A controversial figure in the entheogenic scene, he is nonetheless a tireless advocate for psychedelic consciousness liberation in Australia and abroad. When I became involved in the project, Julian had almost 100 hours of interviews he had conducted across Australia with psychonautd of all stripes and flavour, describing experiences ranging from mild visions on the shores of the shamanic dimensions to unbelievable encounters with hyperdimensional alien entities.

Over the course of two years, we shaped the interviews into a structure of initiation & first rites through dark complications, the process or gaining orientation, visitations with the “other” and finally deeper insights into the evolution of consciousness and humanity. Working with talented and diverse animators from across the world, we were able to bring these wild and wonderful first person accounts to vivid life, in an attempt to convey the magical, surreal, horrifying, mystical, transcendent and sometimes hilarious experiences that we had collected.

But it’s not all hallucinogenic eye candy. The documentary also includes deep analysis of what the f**k all of this might mean, both from a psychological perspective, a shamanic perspective and even an evolutionary dimension. Most importantly it asks one profound question over and over again; In the age of blooming psychedelic medicine and therapy on the verge of being embraced by mainstream science, what mystery lies beyond the sanitised confines of the therapist’s model? What do we make of strange, exotic and frankly unexplainable encounters with seemingly non-human intelligences at the peak of entheogenic download?

There is a lot to chew on these two hours of unfiltered psychedelic insight and philosophy. I recommend watching it episodically taking the five chapters as five discrete volumes, which can be viewed like a series you might binge or return to.

I hope this documentary sparks some new discussions and reflections amongst those who have encountered these dimensions and some important advice for those who have never taken the plunge but are intrigued to explore the frontiers of consciousness and test the waters of shamanic hyperspace for the first time.

Turn on. Tune In. Download

Contemplations is a documentary film exploring the furthest reaches of psychedelic exploration.
