Legacy - The Voice From The Dark Side #150:
Peter Tägtgren & 25 Years of Legacy: Peter “The Workaholic” Tägtgren has graced the cover of Legacy magazine more times than anyone else. What better way to celebrate its 25th anniversary and 150th issue than by inviting him back for a photo and conducting an extensive interview that traverses his life and career? The discussion covers everything from his bands Hypocrisy, Pain, and Lindemann, to his role as a producer, and how the scene has evolved over the decades.
We also take a nostalgic look back at the coolest cover controversies of recent years, featuring bands like Arcturus, Eisregen, and Marduk, while congratulating Necrophobic for dominating the Soundcheck section in the last 50 issues. Additionally, we offer a peek behind the scenes at Legacy and reflect on how the German Metal scene and the magazine have changed over the past 25 years.
But that’s not all: This issue includes three full-length CD supplements. Alongside the usual 18-track Legacy sampler, our friends at Kernkraftritter have contributed a sleek compilation of 17 songs, introducing powerful underground bands. Moreover, celebrating the 150th issue wouldn’t be complete without paying tribute to Slayer, who arguably invented Extreme Metal. As the band members are typically reticent, we’ve done something different: the “Slaytanic Tribute” compilation CD features twelve bands covering a Slayer song in their own style, accompanied by interviews in the magazine.
A detailed story on the new Combichrist release concludes the issue, epitomizing what Legacy stands for and will continue to represent: a diverse perspective on our scene that dares to look beyond the conventional. Of course, issue 150 also offers over 200 pages of information on the latest releases and the most exciting bands, from Benighted to Selbst to Witherfall, as well as some festival insider tips for the upcoming summer.
