3 years Ago - We suggested a crazy idea of Jeys Marabini doing Reggae song(s). And Jeys wrote and composed the song Jah Deliver Us. Got so much positive reviews around Africa and beyond. Former Lucky Dube Keyboard and vocalist Thuthukani Cele was one the people who were impressed by the Legendary Marabini’s new sound. For few months Jeys was a Rasta Man 😎😀🤣. ONLY 6 PLACES LEFT! 🎶 — Join First Generation as we welcome Nobuntu, a female a ca****la quintet from Zimbabwe, for a FREE interactive workshop introducing harmonies and rhythms of traditional African songs on Monday, Feb. 7!

Nobuntu has drawn international acclaim for their inventive and exhilarating performances, ranging from traditional Zimbabwean songs to Afro-jazz and gospel music. Their work features dance and traditional percussion instruments such as the Mbira, or thumb piano. You may bring your own djembe, conga, or bongo, but it's not required to participate. The workshop takes place on Monday, Feb 7 from 4:00-5:30 at the Performance Project (1365 Main St. 2nd floor).
