Late last night we got the news that our brother & hero "Funky George" Brown, had transitioned. Being a founding member of the one and only "Kool & The Gang", he was a MAJOR INFLUENCE on Steve's playing. Proud have known him.....

Steves in the house‼️

I first played with Steveland when I was 17 and still in high school.

We played, "Hymn Of The Seventh Galaxy", just the two us…nobody else knew what we were doing!! This was during the -Wonderlove days. Subsequently, we went on to play together on a few serious l occasions including the Super Bowl / Detroit - Prez Clinton/Hollywood Bowl, etc.

So.... when it was time to hit with The Stones for "Sweet Sounds Of Heaven", we had the lock!

Just back from groovin' in Nashville, guesting on the legendary WSM show "Coffee, Country & Cody" & with Jessie Scott. Then at , presenting her with the Heritage Award at The Ryman and then playing "In The Meantime" from "LaVette!" with Bettye, Larry Campbell and the fine house band put together by Buddy Miller. The we hosted a listening, signing "LaVette!"event , where I bought some vinyl. Alright then we were busting a serious 4 1/2 hour DJ set with my buddy over at The Virgin Hotel, hanging with the Jay-Vee Records team til the break of dawn. Then it was off to LA to do Crossroads Festival to play a 4 song set with JM3.... my brothers John & Pino were in fine form‼️ Ran into some friends like Sheryl, Gary, Taj, Xander, Jimmie, Cindy, Carlos, Mitch, Bill & Scooter. Thanks to all
