There is such a soft spot in my heart for this book. Originally called "The Last Cat," I read it to my kids and nieces on a canoe trip three summers ago, in manuscript form, and the littlest asked for it again and again, she could not stand for me to stop reading this story. Something magical about Gail Donovan's timeless writing tugged all of our hearts and today we found out PublishersWeekly has given this little kitty a STAR!
