🌟 Long post warning but I promise you it’s worth the read 🌟

🌟 Believe in yourself 🌟

I recently read a post a business colleague wrote and it got me thinking.

I always wanted to ride horses. Always. From the time I was a toddler in Poland I just wanted a horse. I’d click my pushbike forward and ask it to woah. I’d argue black and blue with my parents and my grandmother that we could keep a horse in the garage. It was an old barn actually. I’d watch the horse pull the cart into our yard delivering coal for the stove.

I drew horses.

I breathed horses.

In Austria I’d pick grass to feed any horse that would take it from me. My favourite was a little pally mare called Rosie. I still remember when the farmer was leading her down the road to her barn and let me have a sit on her. I remember every emotion that went through my 3yo body to this day.

Once a year I was allowed to go for a ride around Centennial Park. It’s all my parents could afford at the time and I remember, each time we drove past, I’d be straining to just get a glimpse of a horse.

As a teenager my mum would drive me to any riding school that would have me to clean stables and watch lessons just so I could be near them.

In high school they managed to scrape together $10 each week so I could get lessons at a riding school.

When I had my first horse, Kira, I kept her at an old lady’s place. My head was always in the clouds. I was a dreamer. I remember telling her how I wanted to not only ride at the Royal (it was the only National show I knew of but any massive show would suffice had I known more) but I wanted to win. I remember her telling me that I was too much of a dreamer and I didn’t have the gumption to actually follow through with that. I felt deflated but I also have a little ‘f**k you’ about me. I thought, why? Why can’t I win? I actually felt that, one day, I deserved to win.

I remember turning up at my first hack show with Willie. He was beautifully clipped. My plaits were a bit ordinary. My saddle and bridle were cheap and second hand and my white saddle pad was all wrong. But I was so happy to get there that none of that mattered. I won a third place ribbon in the Consolation Hack class. You know, that class for those that hadn’t won a thing all day? And I was over the moon. I did a lot of watching that day. Fast forward 6 weeks. I asked to be taught how to put rosettes in Willie’s mane. I borrowed a pretty bridle and a saddle and sheepskin. I completely stuffed up our workout but I rode out with Reserve Champion Hack this time. God I wanted to stick it to that old lady 😂

Fast forward to April 2023. PHAA National Show. It’s the Royal of the breed I ride. I surrounded myself with people who knew their stuff. People who were where I wanted to be. People who believed in me as much as I believed in myself. Because I’m a dreamer remember. Because I lay in bed dreaming of riding in THAT arena with flowers around Callie’s neck. I dreamt of that moment for over 30 years.

And?

It happened.

That’s not to say it happened without tears. Without frustration. Without moments of complete despair and crippling self doubt. But I’m a dreamer remember?

Dream hard enough. Live and breathe that dream. Believe it. Own it. Ride into that arena like you’ve already won because you have. Everyone who turns up for themselves has won. Whether you’re riding a horse, playing footy, starting a business or planning your dream life…. Back yourself. Turn up every single day.

And remember……

Be a dreamer with your head in the clouds and don’t let ANYONE crush that in you.

Why?

Because it always starts with a dream 🌟

Callie left this morning to meet her boyfriend in QLD. I’ve had a virus the last few days and thought I was doing really well but realised I was just running on the adrenaline of her going.

The moment she left, I came inside and slept for over two hours. It’s so strange not having her here, nickering for lollies over my back gate and giving everyone heaps. Spartan keeps calling for her and doesn’t quite understand why she has disappeared 💔

Callie is in good hands for the next couple of months while we wait for the next chapter of her life as a mum to start. While this is so difficult for me to not have her here, this is her time now 🫶

In true Callie form, she got excited to see a truck as she loves to travel and was quite annoyed that there wasn’t a haynet in there to munch on and immediately told both horses on each side off before pawing at the ground to tell the driver to get on with things 😂

Enjoy the next chapter my Queen.

I’ll see you in the New Year 💜

Sparty was quite upset and chased the truck 💔

Stop focusing on what you don’t have. Focus forward 💜

20/11/2024

So I’m a bit of an old cripple these days 😂 getting on and off all 16.3 hands of Sparty does my knee with no ACL no favours. So Sparty calmly stands at the fence for me to climb off but there is a cost…..

Lollies of course 😂💜

I speak with so many women—women with dreams and determination.

Women who are mothers. Women who are married or single. Women who work, who juggle everything life throws at them, and who give their all every day.

Many of these women tell me they want more time—time for their kids, for their families, for their own passions. But in this world, time often comes at the cost of finances. It seems we’re always trading one for the other.

Some of these women seek independence. They’re ready for a change in their circumstances, a fresh start where they’re in control.

Then, there are women like me. We’ve reached a stage where we wonder what retirement will look like. Will we have enough? Will we need to downsize just to make it through? And what if there’s no property to downsize from because we’re renting?

If any of this speaks to you, I’d love to show you how I’m transforming my own life through my online business.

Join my Facebook group below to watch a free 45-minute Masterclass that explains what I do and how I do it.

Your Life, Your Way. Creating Personal and Financial success.

You can decide if this path is right for you and join a community of incredible, like-minded women.

I’ll see you on the inside.

I must say I sucked at everything I truly wanted at the start. Really, really sucked. But I have this thing called trainability and resilience and those two things go a long way 🙌🏻

When I was told I could show at National level by a friend who has done it successfully since childhood, I placed myself in her hands and let her teach and mentor me. From what to bring, how to stitch plaits and how to get my horse showing the best part of herself. And she taught me to really trust in myself 🫶

And we eventually made it and won!

It’s a similar story in my online business. I seriously sucked at the start. I had no social media following, I was scared to have conversations incase I was judged and I was too shy to showcase the amazing lifestyle changes my business was opening up to me.

But I put myself in my mentors hands who has the success I want. And I slowly stopped sucking at things because I let her take me under her wing and followed in her path.

I’m still not as good as her but I will be because I have her and my team have her through me.

So don’t be afraid to suck. Be humble and put out your hand. A true mentor will take your hand and let you walk with them, share their secrets to success and let their light shine on you because, one day, you’ll be shining your light onto someone who sucks at what you’re good at 💜

Who’s sick of all this rain? 🌧️

I’ve seen a lot of posts where people are done with it.

The mud.

The wet days.

Unable to ride or be outside.

The list goes on and on. And I must say, I’ve had those thoughts cross my mind too but snapped myself out of it as soon as I went down that rabbit hole.

So this brings me to…..

Gratitude 🫶

Something we sometimes forget to have.

See, as humans, we are really good at pointing out the negatives.

I’ll pick on the weather for now.

It’s too hot.

It’s too cold.

It’s too windy.

There’s too much fog.

The road is wet.

Do any of you remember the height of the drought in 2019?

Getting hay was stressful because there wasn’t any.

Water was running out and getting 10k litres every two weeks was the best we could get.

We were praying for the very rain we are cursing today.

I’ve learnt to live in the moment. I appreciate today’s deluge of rain as I know I’ll be grateful for all the grass and the reduced feed bill once it comes through.

During the drought I was so very grateful that I secured a water truck every fortnight for water (yes it was expensive!) and a hay guy who delivered my hay monthly from QLD to keep my horses fed.

Once you can practice gratitude, you’ll learn to enjoy the moment of the now rather than being stuck in limbo.

There’s always a silver lining in every situation. Find it and enjoy it 💜

Tuesday is Chooseday!

And what a day it is!

Misty rain 🌧️ and my very favourite horse from my favourite spot on the veranda.

The horses are fed and rugged, the dogs are on their couch and the cats are wanting the fire on 🔥

Me? Well I’m a little under the weather with what I believe is a return of very low iron so today I’ll do a handful of chores then park myself on the couch with the cats. My staying power just isn’t there at the moment and I have no motivation to do anything but fluff around. Even my mind isn’t interested in anything too serious.

So I’m truly grateful to have my Chooseday choice of not doing much at all today 💜

Happy Chooseday to you all!
