1. What is the structure of the CEC Media Lab? The main publication is Republican Post , but we also support RP wide publications on request. Thanks!

What is the CEC (Centre for Enterprise and Communication) Media Lab about?
- To be a central hub that provides realistic opportunities and exposure for students to experience the challenges found in the industry

- To enhance knowledge and skills learned through Diploma in Mass Communication curriculum

- Provide real time journalistic/PR and Marketing Communication environment for studen

ts and inspire hands on experience

- Grooming and delivering industry ready professionals

- Creating a strong portal of projects and establishing a solid network with the industry

2. There are 3 different clusters at the Media Lab:
- Journalism – Work on story assignments based on lifestyle, community, technology and reviews as well as design and layout of the publication. This cluster also includes the online version of the Republican Post

- Broadcast Media – Projects such as event coverage, corporate videos and our very own REP TV ….watch for more info on this!

- Public Relations/Marketing Communication – All work related to PR and advertising campaigns and launches, event management, social media strategy/content creation and

BEHIND THE SCENES: RepTV During the two days of the Media Camp, RepTV was mobilised to capture the intriguing moments of the camp. On one of their run-abouts we managed to get hold of Brenda Kho, Year 3 student in Mass Communications and broadcast head of the media lab. “It’s a really fast paced environment as there are a lot of deadlines we have to meet within a given time. For example, getting the ‘rushes’ and editing the footage. However, as cliché as it may sound, it is very satisfying to be involved in the entire process. It’s stressful, but definitely fun. I’m sure my colleagues would agree with me.” The team came out with a full video that was shown to everyone at the camp and they loved it. The moments that bonded one were relieved once again. “Going around with the camera was a little tiring, but the end result was definitely worth it.” – Hazirah Saini, 19, Broadcast Team. To sum up, it was a brilliant 4 minutes and have a look and let us know what you think!
