Out December 15th! On pre-sale now. We’re doing a deeper dive into fave LOBBY LOYDE’s oveure. “Do You Believe In Magic” is obviously not the famous hit by The Lovin’ Spoonful. It is a Lobby original and was in fact one of the earliest COLOURED BALLS tunes dating from early ‘72. The ‘Balls never ended up recording it. A few months after their split in early ‘75, Lobby recorded it with him on lead vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, JIMMY THOMPSON (ex- Vince Maloney Sect, Tony Worley & The Blue Jays and Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs) on drums, plus PAUL DIXSON on sax. This single was issued in December 1975 on the Bootleg label and has never been reissued before. It is an honor and pleasure to keep Lobby’s music alive.

TERRY STAMP - Blue Redondo LP JAW068 out early 2024! LISTEN to “Mask Upon Your Face” in the comments.
Terry’s follow-up to his fantastic 1975 album FATSTICKS will finally be heard! Blue Redondo was recorded during 1977-1978 after he had relocated from London to El Segundo, California and still owed his label another album. They passed on the material and the tapes sat in storage until the early 2000s when Terry had the material pressed onto short run CDs to sell at his local solo gigs and via mail order. This the first time any of the tunes have been available on vinyl, lovingly recovered from the original master tapes by and mastered by . Lacquers cut by . This is somehow drinking music and “Sunday morning coming down” music at the same time. Terry puts on a master class in songwriting over these twelve tracks. Pairs perfectly with our double album of Terry’s home demos TWENTY ROUGH ROTTERS. Fact.
Simply put, Terry is one of the most underrated songwriters of the past 50 years. He got his start in the early 60s playing bass for Mike Rabin and The Demons, the house band at the Wimbledon Palais, supporting the likes of The Kinks and The Rolling Stones. After the Palais closed, he was hired as a songwriter for Schroeder Music in ‘68. He soon connected with Jim Avery (ex-Attack, Thunderclap Newman) and formed the axis of underground heroes, THIRD WORLD WAR, the best bit of aggro ever, pre-figuring the UK Punk explosion by a good five years. After TWW, Terry released his debut solo album Fatsticks, an incredible collection of superb songwriting seeing him backed by the likes of Ollie Halsall, Tony Newman, Herbie Flowers and Jim Avery. Terry relocated to America by the time Fatsticks was released. Terry dutifully entered Brother Recording Studio and laid down the album he still owed using some of his earliest efforts such as “Mask Upon Your Face” which dated from 1968 and very recently written ones like “Harbor Freeway”, which literally went right by his new house. This is a listen on repeat ten times kind of album and it’s a honor to make it available to you. TERRY RULES OK!
PROWLER “Pale Green Vauxhall Driving Man” b/w “I’m Your Leading Man” 7” JAW069 coming March/April 2024! This is not really a reissue per se because the original uncensored version has never been released on vinyl before. It was released in a censored version as the oddly titled “Pale Green (Hmmmm) Driving Man” in 1972. The BBC’s policy at the time would not allow a commercial product or brand name being used. Same reason The Kinks had to re-record “Lola” for the single version substituting “chery cola” in place of “Coca-Cola”. Prowler masked the offending “Vauxhall” auto brand name in their song with a Moog (played by Chris Thomas) sort of replicating an accelerating car. The fact that you can clearly hear the word “Vauxhall” several other times outside of the chorus didn’t seem to phase anyone. It was all for naught. The Beeb didn’t play it anyway. The subject matter alone, a kerb crawler searching the streets for unwitting victims of his tainted “sticky brandy balls” sweets would warrant a ban from The Beeb regardless.
PROWLER featured the wildly prolific team of MARTIN BRILEY and BRIAN ENGEL from such faves as MANDRAKE PADDLE STEAMER, STARBUCK “Do You Like Boys”, LIVERPOOL ECHO, SHAMBLES “Hello Baby”, TRUE ADVENTURE, etc. LISTEN IN THE COMMENTS!
The b-side “I’m Your Leading Man” has never appeared on vinyl before. As always, we provide bang for the buck! Mastered by Sean M. Lennon at Control C in Oakland.
Europe, grab the Atlantis single from Shiny Beast while you can!
This is simply Rockin' Horse, featuring Jimmy Campbell and Billy Kinksley, recording under a different name. Their 'Yes It Is' LP completely flopped in 1971. They were still under contract as Rockin' Horse so they got around that by releasing this single as Atlantis on their producer Hal Carter's Fury label in 1972. Now this single is finally available again. Released by Just Add Water Records.

Good news for once! We now have Global Post available to us. Overseas shipping just got much cheaper if you live in 🇦🇺🇳🇿🇯🇵🇰🇷🇳🇴🇨🇭🇲🇽🇨🇦🇧🇷 🇦🇷plus many others. The difference is MASSIVE. For example, if you buy the new 5-pack bundle of 7” releases and you live in Australia it’s now only $20 to ship instead of the previous rate of $35.25. If you buy one 7” the price went down from $19.50 to $12. Savings vary by country but Brazil is seeing the biggest difference so far. Of course there’s a catch, there’s always a catch. Global Post only works for parcels 16 ounces and under. All our releases are also available overseas from Clearspot (NL), JAW UK, Strangeworld (AU), Base Records (JP), and soon Sounds Of Subterrania (DE). Thank you for following us on this never-ending quest to shine a light on overlooked, unknown or forgotten sounds. Lots more to come in 2024. Also, we’ve completed our move back to Berkeley and are shipping daily. Truly, Jason

Here’s a preview of the b-side “Goodbye Dan” off our upcoming DAMON LYON-SHAW “Why Cry Why” 7” single JAW060, due out in October. While the 1973 A-side is pure proto punk fury, the b-side dates from three years prior and sounds like a Syd-era Pink Floyd outtake. Damon is a legendary engineer/producer who has worked with the likes of Third World War, Status Quo, The Who, The Factory, etc. During downtime between sessions, Damon and his recording engineer friends would cut their own tracks. They were only pressed to acetates for their own listening pleasure. Both tracks are previously unreleased and were mastered and restored by Giuda’s engineering maestro, Danilo Silvestri. We are grateful to Damon for giving this project his full blessing and excited for the tunes to finally see the light of day 50+ years later. Superb graphics by @tash.tastic.voyage. #damonlyonshaw #justaddwaterrecords
DAMON LYON-SHAW “Why Cry Why” b/w “Goodbye Dan” 7” single JAW060. Coming in 2023! UNRELEASED Glam/Proto Punk on the A-side, fuzzed out Psych on the b-side. Sourced directly from the only known acetates and with Damon Lyon-Shaw’s very kind permission. These tunes from circa ‘70 & ‘73 are seeing the light of day for the very first time. Damon Lyon-Shaw has produced some of our all-time favorite records including The Factory “Path Through The Forest” single and Status Quo “On The Level” and “For You Blue” LPs. He is primarily known for his engineering work including The Who “Tommy”, Third World War “II” and numerous Status Quo albums. During downtime at the studio, Damon and his fellow engineers whom were all musicians, would cut their own songs in between sessions. These tracks were only pressed to acetates and given to those who played on the sessions and their friends. Finding not one, but two of these acetates from the same time period is a miracle. Restored and mastered by Danilo Silvestri. Graphics by Mikey Tashjian. #damonlyonshaw #junkshopglam #glam #protopunk #justaddwaterrecords #psych
SNOOTY “Crazy Lady” b/w “UNKNOWN ARTIST “Oh My Lady (Our Love Is Just About Gone)” 7” JAW061. Coming this fall. 2 circa ‘74 unreleased UK Junkshop Glam tunes rescued from the original acetates. Audio restoration and mastering by Danilo Silvestri (Giuda). Graphics by Doran Shelley.
TERRY STAMP - “I’ll Get You For That” off Twenty Rough Rotters - The Bomb Shelter Tapes 1980-1989 2LP. Recorded 1981.
Here’s a little preview off our TERRY STAMP - Blue Redondo LP JAW068. This is the unreleased follow-up to his incredible Fatsticks album. Recorded during 1977-78. We’re working with the original master tapes kindly provided by Terry himself. #terrystamp #justaddwaterecords #thirdworldwar
TERRY STAMP rarely does covers but when he does it’s a banger. “Debris” originally recorded by The Faces. Written by the one and only Ronnie Lane. We filmed this on 4 March 2022 in Terry’s garage in El Segundo, CA. His cat is on backing vocals. We have some new projects in the works with Terry. We’ve just skimmed the surface of his immense back catalog of recordings so far.
