As my son approaches 5 months old, gruesome childcare costs are creeping ever closer on the horizon.
NI is the only part of the UK that does not have a government-funded affordable childcare scheme. All local politicians agree that setting one up is an urgent priority, but without concrete proposals for funding it to the tune of £400m I fear it is unlikely to be delivered any time soon. I've written an article, published on Slugger O'Toole, on the choices for the NI Executive if they really want to prioritise affordable childcare.
