This week's tiny tale.

Anna has 2 BIC pens, a black one and a blue one, and the blue one leaks. She has 25 blank flip sides of last night’s menu from the bistro where she works. She takes all this home after her dishwashing shift. Before morning, she writes 22 versions of a blues song she will sing to herself on her way to work tonight. The ink stains will wash off in the dish sink, but the song is hers to keep.

A tiny tale for you ... a little longer these days ... threads offers 500-character max...

Flo lived to be 102 last time. When she hatches from her egg as a caterpillar next, a life measured in weeks, it’s disconcerting. She ponders fate as a pupa. The change in her is far more profound than puberty or menopause had been. She emerges from her chrysalis, magnificently winged, to discover she is a blue morpho butterfly. She thinks now, this life will be fine.
