Why Windy City International?
We founded the Windy City International Film Festival to provide more public screenings for Chicago’s bustling and talented indie film community! Then we thought, while we’re at it, why not help bridge the gap between Chicago’s film scene and the rest of the world?
Our summer-time fest puts the emphasis on the filmmaker with plenty of networking events, after-parties, and a mimosa-filled awards brunch (which is quick and painless)! We also host a staged reading for our screenplay finalists.
We strive to put on a fest that filmmakers and audiences will love-and it’s working! Both years we have been in operation, we have been listed on FilmFreeway’s “Top 100 Best Reviewed Festival” list! With over 5,000 festivals on FilmFreeway, that is a huge accomplishment for a little fest like ours.
