Mahakavya Bhagwad Geeta consists of 18 parvas
1. आदि पर्व - Beginning, rise of Kuruvamsha, birth of Pandavas, their education, marraige etc
2. सभा पर्व - Making of Indraprastha, Yudhishthira performs Rajasuya yaga, play of dice and Draupadi humiliation
3. वन पर्व - 12 years of exile in forest
4. विराट पर्व - 1 year incognito exile
5. अद्योग पर्व - Activity and preparations for war
6. भीष्म पर्व - Bhishma becomes commander in chief of Kaurava army, conversation between Krishna and Arjuna
7. द्रोण पर्व - Dronacharya becomes commander in chief, most of great warriors from both the sides die
8. कर्ण पर्व - Karna becomes commander in chief
9. शैल्या पर्व - Shalya becomes commander in chief, last day of battle, Duryodana dies
10. सौप्तिक पर्व - Ashwatthama, Kripa and Kritavarma kill remaining Pandava army in their sleep
11. स्त्री पर्व - Gandhari curses Krishna, women of Kauravas and Pandavas lament the dead
12. शांति पर्व - Yudhishthira becomes the king of Hastinapur, Bhisma gives instructions to him
13. अनुषासन पर्व - Last day of Bhishma and his final advice, instructions, wisdom to upcoming emperor
14. अश्वमेधिक पर्व - Ashwamedha Yaga by Yudhisthira, world conquest by Arjuna
15. आश्रमवासी पर्व - Death of Dhritrashtra, Kunti and Gandhari in the forest fire
16. मौसल पर्व - Fight between the Yadav clan with maces (mausala) and death of Yadavas
17. महाप्रस्थानिका पर्व - Vanprasth of Pandavas, their journey across the country and their ascent of the Himalayas
18. स्वर्गरोहण पर्व - Yudhishthira's final test and journey towards heaven
