peculiar is a new q***r literary journal that aims to showcase the prose, poetry, art, and photography of Utah’s le***an, gay, bisexual, and transgender writers and artists. We hope to recognize the creative talents of the often overlooked q***r community within Utah’s unique culture. peculiar seeks to publish quality works regardless of theme or genre. The subject need not necessarily be q***r; w
e only ask that contributors identify as q***r and live within Utah. Submissions of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, art, and photography can be sent via email to [email protected] by Feb 15, 2015. We ask that no one submit previously published works. We do allow simultaneous submissions, but please inform us if your work is under consideration to be published elsewhere. Please include author name, title of work, and type of work (fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, art, photography) with each submission. Prose stories must be under 5,000 words. Multiple submissions are welcomed, but we ask that you submit your highest quality pieces—sadly we cannot dedicate an entire issue to one writer or artist. Also, you must own the rights to any work you submit— it must be your own, original work.
