The legendary Greek composer Vangelis has died at the age of 79. His electronic theme music for the Oscar-winning "Chariots of Fire" (1981) was one of the best-known film scores of the 1980s and he went on to compose the scores for "Blade Runner" (1982), "The Bounty" (1984) and "Alexander" (2002). Vangelis was considered as one of the most important figures in the history of electronic music.
