The ministry had fine tuned plans for a movie crusade in Onitinrin, a remote village in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, Nigeria in October 2009. Earlier in June, 2009, we were in the same village for our first film project in ministry. We already promised the villagers and the church leaders that the movie would be ready for premiering at a crusade we were planning for some months after then. The logistics was done and I was sent to the village before the crusade time for strategic planning.
The 2-day crusade was drawing closer and the movie we were to use was still being worked on in Lagos. Alas, the day came and we were disappointed with the movie because those in charge of post production in Lagos couldn't live up to expectations. We were in the village. We had to pray for directions from God as people were gathering for the first night. They were eager to see the movie we did in the village.
Just in a moment, 'Bro. Femi', Femi Prem Adebile told me we were going to Kickstart the meeting. We later premiered OLORI OTA, a movie by Daddy 'Shola Mike Agboola. The harvest was fantastic that night. The second evening came which was a Saturday. We were still very much hopeful we'd get our movie. The movie didn't come ooo😀😀😀. It was a 'beautiful disappointment ' that cut through our hearts like a dagger!
That night, the President of the ministry said, 'Bro. Asegun, I'm going to preach in English while you interpret for me in Yoruba'. Shock was sent as waves down my spine. I keyed in in faith at the instant and we did so. Great was the harvest. He prayed for the sick as well and we blessed the Lord for the encounters!
Should I tell you all about our mission trip to the core north in Magami Village in Kano state in April, 2016? When you hear that both of us have been together for long, it's no gimmick nor mere fact. It is a testament to the ruggedness, doggedness and tenacity of a journey of destiny!
"Asegz, what do you think we can do to ensure that this movie reach every home?" "How can we pe*****te the unreached?" These are questions that my amiable leader do ask me whenever we are having brainstorming sessions on Kingdom projects.
Such an amazing personality. He is that selfless and accomodating. He gives people platform to express their giftings! Nothing wastes with Fejos! He'll pick you up and ensure that you use that deposit of God in you!
Today is another day, another year, another moment God has made for the unique celebration of this young man. He started ministry as a very young lad but he was focused even when it seemed like he never knew where he was going to in life. Now, those visions of yesteryears are beginning to manifest. He had dreamt of acting, directing and producing movies with the whites. That is coming to reality in our very eyes. He had dreamt of having a University where people who have passion for gospel filmmaking can come and be equipped for exploits. That foundation is being laid with the Fejosbaba Talent Workshop (FTW).
What more can I say? Each moment I think back, I always appreciate Baba God for connecting us! Because God really connected us!
Friends, celebrate with me and rejoice for this monumental blessing to our generation. Tell him I do love him so much. Drop a word of prayer for him as we all say to him, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR!
