The Woolly Tuque Keeping your ears warm since 1992. The Woolly Tuque was a zine fixated on finding some semblance of a music scene in Oshawa and Whitby in the 1990s.

Founded by Will McGuirk and his gang of Accursed Poets, the first issue was published in 1992. News about local bands, interviews with bands playing in the area, and record reviews were its primary focus. With a playful nod to its predecessor In Yer Ear fanzine, the name The Woolly Tuque was meant to conjure up a quintessential Canadian image, while encouraging multiple interpretations of what it

means to be woolly. This page has been created by the Tuque's former contributors to share old issues with each other, with people who were featured in its pages, and with fans. So far, only three issues have been found. The first issue features an interview with Lowest of the Low; Issue #3 features The Hanson Brothers; Issue #7 Sloan. We know more issues are hiding in basements, under beds and on bookshelves. Fans who find any more issues of the Tuque are encouraged to post them to the site as photos. See Photos to view an issue.
