Florida Man Hidding From Police in a Bizarre Way šš
n the fall of 2023, Florida man Johnny Yates was wanted by law enforcement in Polk County. In mid-October, the sheriffās office received a tip that Yates was holed up inside his Lakeland home. The department described the events that followed in a subsequent Facebook post. Upon arriving at the address, officers spotted a note on a dry-erase board that had been placed in front of a window. The note read āJohnny Yates does NOT live here!!ā The authorities considered that it was a shockingly uninspired attempt by Yates to throw them off his trail. The Facebook post jokingly peered into the officersā mindset at the time by stating āGeeā¦a dry-erase board never lied to us beforeā¦should we believe it?ā The officers questioned a person who was leaving the house and they confirmed that the wanted man was, in fact, inside. The police surrounded the property and called Yates out for about an hour before dispensing what the post described as āsurrender smokeā. Four people emerged from the building, all of whom were charged with resisting arrest, but Yates wasnāt among them. The police discharged a second round of smoke and, when that didnāt work, they released a K-9 unit. Yates was arrested and taken to the local jail after the dog found him hiding in a modified chest of drawers.

Teacher Was K1lled Over a Bad Grade šš«
Spanish teacher Nohema Graber, from Iowa, was last seen alive on November the 2nd of 2021. The 66-year-old held her usual classes at Fairfield High School, but she was nowhere to be found the following morning. Graber was reported missing on November the 3rd and a search was immediately launched by local police. The womanās body was found that same day, hidden beneath a tarp, wheelbarrow and railroad ties in Chautauqua Park, where she was known to take daily walks after work. Police were anonymously given evidence of social media communication implicating students Jeremy Goodale and Willard Miller in the Spanish teacherās k1lling. A friend of the duoās had sent the authorities screenshots and messages some of which showed Goodale standing next to a jug of Clorox bleach, captioned with āTime to hide a bodyā. In another post, heād taken a selfie and captioned it āPOV youāre my Spanish teacher and this is the last thing you seeā. The teenagers were arrested on November the 4th and charged with first-degree murder. Evidence gathered during the investigation indicated that Goodale and Miller had beaten Graber to death with a baseball bat. Officers believed Millerās actions were motivated by the fact that Graber had given him a grade which made him ineligible for an exchange trip to Spain. Following the incident, the teenager asked Goodale to assist him in k1lling the teacher. In July of 2023, Miller pleaded guilty to his charge and was sentenced to serve life in prison with the possibility of parole in 35 years. In November, Goodale also pleaded guilty and received a life sentence, with the possibility of parole in 25 years. The teenager apologised to Graberās family during the sentencing hearing.
