Statues tour Sweden & release new single!
Our new single ”Don’t fear what we become” that’s taken from a forthcoming split 12” with Sweet Teeth, GASP and F.I.L is out now! We are taking this opportunity to venture out on a tour of Sweden before we start working on & recording our 4th album. We are joined by Sweet Teeth, Washing Machina, Huvet and Tennis Bafra on these shows. Brilliant! We would love to see you at these shows, because all bands are really good. We will bring our most stubborn form, all our merch and lots of noise!

The band about the single:
Burning is super intense and therefore also super fun to play. But it’s really a delicate flower this one, if someone is just a little bit of somewhere the whole song is ruined. We practiced it to perfection of course, but it’s alway a little nervous just before it starts. I love what Gina did with the lyrics! And her voice in this is just pure gold. I will always remember when we recorded it in my living room with my kid sitting on the floor looking at me like “what are you screaming about mum”? -Emma

With Burning I wanted to convey an intense, fierce vibe where you could feel the frustration. It’s very much about an inner conflict of being a “grown-up” living a somewhat not so grown-up life..now whatever that is! I’ve always felt like a weird person, not really fitting in to what society expects of you like how to work, having kids and overall day to day stuff. I think I, most of the time, have felt like I’m just lazy, not fit for this way of living or something haha! But in the last couple of years I have come more to terms with just managing life the way it fits me. Which I guess is a way for me “to not burn through. -Gina.

World leaders, just put the word on your tongue and taste it for a while, quite bitter. From the little man to the leader of today, the gap is gigantous. But none the less, we still put our faith in the new prophets, feeding us lies about their will to make the world the paradise we long for, just as the old prophets did. When in power the quest is the same, to remain in power, no matter what. It’s time they step down, or we will have to help them.

After the last album we wanted to try out some dynamics in songs and this one of the results of this but it’s still powerpunkpop-song in what has become our style, straightforward as always. The lyrics are about letting go and going down memory lane at the same time…bittersweet.
Sweet Teeth EP will be on a vinyl that include 4 EPs from Lövely Records: "Split Image" by Sweet Teeth, "A fair warning" by First in Line, "Culture of death" by Statues, and "GASP" by GASP. These will also be available on streaming platforms.

We love Rotten Mind, they are pretty much one of the reasons that the label Lövely Records exists. As the title implies, the gloomy yet energetic atmosphere on Rat City Dog Boy is influenced by life in the city.
Jakob from the band explains:
“We practically live on the streets, in the bars and in our rehearsal room in Uppsala; the dark and twisted city with a long history of rock music and especially punk. For us, taking inspiration from the nights in Uppsala and putting it on tape was an essential part of writing this album".

The garage punkrock lieutenants of Sweden is back with a bang! After years in solitary, due to the epidemic the band has been working on new songs and are now ready to share it with the world. In the process of the writing they have been searching in the back catalogues of the most primitive rock n’ roll in history and the song Swedish Woods really sums it up. It’s hard hitting, trashy, simple yet with a twist of finesse that makes you wanna hear it over and over again. Nothing is so ageless as the dark and massive woods of Sweden, and in a time of turbulence the band wanted to create something similar to this in their music. With the classic recepies of rock n’ roll that has been used and recycled since the time we had the ability to count 1, 2, 3, 4, they want to describe our contemporary struggles and create sounds and beats that will let you let loose.
Bring on the weekend folks and enjoy great musik!
