Happy International Women's Day! 🎉 We're proud of our team's 50% gender divide. 🤗 Today, we're celebrating the women behind Metal Additive Manufacturing magazine and our sister publications Powder Metallurgy Review and PIM International magazine International magazine! 📚
Top left ➡ Emily-Jo Hopson-VandenBos (she/her), Deputy Group Editor & Features Writer
This week, Emily-Jo celebrated her five-year anniversary with us, having joined in 2017 as Assistant Editor. She has since edited hundreds and authored several articles for the company and, as of 2020, holds the role of Features Editor for PM Review. She was bitten by the Additive Manufacturing bug almost immediately after joining, and is a passionate advocate for social equity and diversity in manufacturing. She lives in a cottage with her wife, Charlie, and their three rescue cats, Agatha, Bosie and Herbert.
Top right ➡ Kim Hayes (she/her), Deputy News Editor
Kim joined us in 2019 from a digital marketing background. Since then, she has been passionate about the buzz surrounding the Additive Manufacturing industry and is still amazed when observing an AM machine in action. During work hours, you’ll find her in the newsroom fuelled by cups of tea. Outside of work hours, she loves reading, gardening and her grumpy cat Bilbo.
Bottom left ➡ Charlie Hopson-VandenBos (she/her), Assistant Editor
Charlie became a part of our team in 2021 after a period of freelancing for the company. An American expat, she was introduced to Additive Manufacturing upon her arrival in the UK and leveraged her passion for the written word into a career involving the technology. Between editing news, she enjoys making the most of her National Trust membership, writing, creating art, cooking and tending her and her wife’s small flock of pets.
Bottom right ➡ Swetha Aksh*ta (she/her), Digital Marketer
Swetha is the newest to join the team. She comes from a journalism and marketing background and loves all things soc

See how Desktop Metal's Production system works
How Desktop Metal's Production system works - an insider's view.
The DM Production System is designed for the mass Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing of metal parts. According to Desktop Metal, this will be the fastest AM system available for mass production of high-resolution metal parts. Using the company’s proprietary Single Pass Jetting technology, the DM Production system claims to operate at speeds one hundred times faster than most laser-based Additive Manufacturing systems / 3D printers, having the potential to dramatically reduce cost-per-part and allow metal 3D printing to compete with mass production techniques such as casting.
