In a smash, marry, kill scenario, the Steelers have finished making their choices. They’ve already committed to Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph is on the chopping block, and now they’re taking Russell Wilson to pound tahn. Let’s ride!

I honestly can’t believe the situation we have here. Steelers once again have a Super Bowl winning quarterback on the team. This one might have a few screws loose, but let’s face it, the last one literally got hit by a car. Even though Wilson was 11 and 19 last season and then was benched, most of the blame was put on his head coach, similar to how Canada took the blame here in Pittsburgh. Wilson still had 27 TDs, far more than Pickett’s 6, and only 1 less than Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson.

Even though I wanted to see Mason lead the Steelers to the playoffs this coming season, I think Wilson offers their best shot, and I’m excited to see the Steelers continue making moves. With seven-time Pro-Bowler, Mr. Unlimited, leading the offense, and five-time Pro Bowler/two-time Defensive MVP, Mr. Sack Attack, on the defense’s side, this organization seems well-prepared to take on the Brownies, Ravens, and Chiefs.

The Steelers are still having a QB competition, but I think they’re going to end up with Wilson, leaving Pickett to sharpen his skills from the bench. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the team reacts, but the anticipation in Pittsburgh is palpable. I feel a lot of momentum in Pittsburgh, and I think Russ Wilson is going to take us all for a ride.

The Steelers seem pretty chill about keeping Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph (if they lock him down again) in the QB spotlight for 2024.

Peter King from NBC Sports is throwing some shade with his hot take in Football Morning in America, calling out the Steelers for what he sees as a “colossal misjudgment” in sticking with their current QB lineup.

“Come again? In a division with Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson, the Steelers would actually choose to enter camp with Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph (should he sign in free agency with Pittsburgh)? That sounds like a colossal misjudgment of your quarterback position.”

The Steelers have already proven they can handle Jackson, and Watson will be a rubbed out of our memories soon enough.

So is King trolling? Cause I believe that if Mason had the opportunity to play all year, Steelers would have defeated Lamar in the AFC title game or earlier. It seemed like the NFL was full of QBs overperforming.

But it doesn’t look like there are any chances of Justin Fields, Kirk Cousins, or even Russell Wilson donning the black and gold. And no, I don’t believe the rumors about Fields. Arthur Smith had a chance to get him once and he said no. The Steelers squad is all about giving Pickett another shot (and waiting for him to screw it up) so they can move on to the QB who can give them a playoff win in Pittsburgh, which has been long gone for a painfully long seven years.

What’s the vibe, Steeler Nation? Roll with Pickett and potentially Rudolph again, or time to scout the QB market for some fresh talent? Drop your takes!

When the Steelers were struggling with Kenny, the media was flooded with doomsday predictions about the Steelers losing their edge, their pride, their so-called “Steelers Grit.” It seemed like the team had suddenly forgotten what it was all about.

Then, when Kenny bounced back, the media talked about how the Steelers stuck it out, found their way, and dug deep.

Now, with Mason Rudolph at the helm racking up 30 points a game, everyone’s like, “Oh wow, they’ve rediscovered that Steeler magic.” Mike Tomlin may even be in the running for Coach of the Year. Seriously, what’s with the emotional roller coaster?

How about just finishing your blocks, not jumping offside, and having a marginally accurate quarterback? This team was always Super Bowl caliber. It just needed to get back to the basics and have a consistent quarterback who did more than just avoid throwing interceptions.

If the Steelers make it to the playoffs this year, I bet they’ll get their first playoff win since 2016. I can already see the headlines: “Mason Reignites the Steelers with Playoff Win.” But let’s not get too emotional.
