Arden Advocate Our distribution is by U.S. Mail, home delivery and approximately 200 locations, (i.e. newsstands, retailers and restaurants). Paul V. Scholl, Publisher

Dear Neighbor,

The Arden Advocate is a community-oriented newspaper produced and distributed to serve readers primarily in the Arden-Arcade area and its surrounding areas. We will bring our readers general news stories, local business and real estate news, special announcements, news on events, local commentaries and editorials, church news, entertainment listings, seniors news, local sports, vol

unteer news, syndicated columnists, cartoons and games. We believe we must provide the best possible distribution to serve our advertisers, helping them to thrive within these communities. My background in publishing includes over twenty-five years of management in newspaper and magazine publishing. Our contributors all have publishing experience, which will help us to better serve our advertisers and readers. We believe this will drive the Arden Advocate to become a solid publishing choice within these communities. If there is ever a problem, either with an advertisement, a story or editorial, or even distribution, it will be handled promptly and courteously, as customer service is what keeps people loyal to a local publication. I personally hope you will invest in our publication, either by advertising or by subscribing. Your support is what makes it possible to give our community what it really wants in a hometown newspaper.

Last night at approximately 10:15pm, a Sheriff’s K-9 unit was conducting routine patrol traveling northbound on Franklin Boulevard through a green light, when they were struck by another vehicle that was making an illegal eastbound turn on to Brookfield Drive. The driver of that vehicle fled on foot and was not immediately identified or captured.

While both the Deputy and K-9 were ok, a father and his juvenile son were standing on the corner (on foot), and the juvenile was struck. The juvenile was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

The suspected driver of that other vehicle, 23-year-old Damariae Daniel, turned himself in at the Sacramento County Main Jail moments ago. The Sacramento Police Department will be the primary investigating agency, as the crash occurred in their jurisdiction.
