Christians to Gather Outside of the White House on Sunday to Pray for Our Nation After the Horrific Shooting of President Trump

WASHINGTON, July 13, 2024 /Christian Newswire/ -- Christians plan to gather outside of the White House on Sunday to pray for our nation after the horrific shooting of President Trump. The prayer gathering will be on Sunday, July 14, at 3:15 PM in front of the White House at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.
The prayer event is being organized by the Christian Defense Coalition which is based in Washington, D.C.
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states;
"After the horrific shooting of President Trump on Saturday, it is clear our nation is broken and in desperate need of spiritual awakening and God's healing.
"As we gather in front of the White House, we will be crying out to God for a nationwide revival that will bring restoration and hope to America. We will be praying against violence, division and hate-filled rhetoric from both sides of the political divide. Political violence must never be tolerated. We will also be asking for God’s protection over both President Biden and President Trump.
"Through prayer we can see God shift, shape and transform history as the only way forward for our nation is God's people coming to Him in repentance and brokenness and seeking His mercy and grace. There are no political solutions that can heal America."

This is the attention-getting headline question posed on December 27, 2023 by a company called Tech.co -- an online incubator/accelerator company designed "to help you understand the wider complexities of our tech-dominated world."
"Digital spending is reaching new heights in 2024," they observe.
"The concept of a cashless society has been around for decades. But with 80% of payments in the US being made digitally in 2022, and four in ten of us ditching change altogether, research suggests that the transition from physical currency could take place sooner than we once thought."
Here are some major bullet points worth noting as we see our world moving ever deeper into what we are calling a “Diginomic Era”:
• Two-fifths of Americans used no cash in 2022 (Source: Pew Research)
• 11% of US adults have completely stopped using cash, up from 5% five years ago (Source: Gallup)
• The average number of cash payments fell from 26% in 2019 to 20% in 2021 (Source: Federal Reserve)
• Between 2012 and 2022, cheque transactions declined by almost half (Source: Federal Reserve)

Diginomic Era -- CANADIANS CONVINCED A CASHLESS FUTURE IS COMING
Cash use has significantly declined in Canada over the last six years from 2017-2022, with a 59 per cent decrease in the volume of cash payments and a 41 per cent decrease in the value of cash purchases. “Cash has lost significant payment market share over the years as Canadians continue to turn to secure digital payment options for ease and convenience, coupled with an explosion in e-commerce, a trend that was further fueled through the pandemic,” says one electronics payments specialist.
In this mid-summer 2023 survey, released on November 14, while only 13 per cent report having gone completely cashless, the majority of Canadians (55 per cent) say they have no desire to go cashless, despite the fact that nearly half (49 per cent) think it is likely that Canadian stores will go completely cashless in the next 10 years.

Does anyone in this audience remember this magazine cover from September 1973 as a high school student? That was nearly 50 years ago! Look what they were predicting in this secular magazine to the nation's high school students. The lead article, "Public Needs and Private Rights: Who is Watching You?" opened with the following paragraph: “There is a huge conviction in financial circles that EFT (electronic funds transfer) in one way or another will become a major means for transferring money in the near future. All buying and selling in the program will be done by the computer. No currency, no change, no checks. In the program, people would receive a number tattooed in their wrist or forehead. The number is put in by a laser beam and cannot be felt. The number in the body is not seen with the naked eye and is as permanent as your fingerprints."
Look how close we are today with advancements in computer chip tagging. Anybody remember this edition? This is from my "ancient" library!

DO YOU HAVE A FACE?? Good! You're qualified to pay for groceries with nothing else!
According to a report published on Fortune.com on May 17, "Mastercard wants to do away with the actual credit cards by letting customers pay using their faces or hands."
In my 1974/76 book, CASHLESS SOCIETY: A WORLD WITHOUT MONEY, I reviewed "The Wilson Family" as they lived their daily lives in a cashless society. A future CENCOM ('central computer') was in total control of the family finances, from earnings to expenditures. The concept of this centrally-controlled society would be: "If you don't have it now, you don't get it now." In this story, I made this declaration: "One additional note of importance is this: There is no extension of credit in a controlled society! This is one of the purposes for the cashless society's existence. Where there is no credit, there is no debt in which to drown."
That was 10 years before CENCOM became the Internet! Today, Mastercard wants to eliminate the credit card.

'PALM PAY' INTRODUCED
From the birthing of the 'magstripe' on plastic cards in the 1960s to 'smart' cards (chip-based) in the '80s, we are now light years closer to a truly universal cashless society as biometric payment systems have captured widespread public acceptance in the 21st century. Introducing 'Palm Pay' as Amazon rolls out this newest payment system through Whole Foods.

The palm-scanning technology, called Amazon One, connects shoppers' palm to a credit card to let them pay without waiting in line.
