The Soar Awards are thrilled to kick off the year in Rockford, IL, on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the brand-new Hard Rock Cafe.

This special event will celebrate the incredible sound of gospel choirs!

🏆We will honor Professor James Hall with the Icon Award
AND
🏆Percy Gray Jr. with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Additionally, we will pay tribute to the late Big Jim Wright and recognize the philanthropic efforts of the Fred VanVleet Foundation. We are not done yet... we will also honor Rockford's own, New York Times, Bestselling Author, Kimberla Lawson Roby.

🙌🏾Hosted by chart-topping artist JJ Hairston, the event will feature performances by BET's Sunday Best Crystal Aikin and some of Chicago’s top choirs, all paying tribute to the legacies of Percy Gray Jr. and James Hall.
