First, there will be a driver's meeting at 5pm by back concession to discuss these changes and answer any questions. Once everyone is familiar and we create a routine out of this it will actually work quite well. Hank Po***ck is in charge of the logistics and if you have additional thoughts or suggestions, he's your man. Hank will be positioned in the pits Sunday to get everyone to follow it, work through the bugs etc. I'll warn you in advance - he's pretty serious about this so it's not something I would argue about much. Fortunately, Hank's plan exactly matches what our insurance company asked us to change - so this is the way it's going to be, subject to a few modifications as we work through it.

Highlights:
1. Red area is staging which will have cones etc but moves quite a bit back toward the water truck area - well behind the new guardrail. Stay to the right of that pit road to the extent you can to allow other traffic/wreckers to move along the inside.

2. Yellow is the new work area during features when needed. We will discuss how your car gets there and some scenarios at the driver's meeting.

3. Green is the area at bottom of hill where you will park your mules, 4 wheelers etc to do any repairs in work area.

4. Blue is where people in the pits who are parked behind turns 3-4 or have stuff for the work area will watch the races. We do plan to have a container back there within the next few weeks to stand on in addition to the bleachers and standing area.

5. Nobody can stand from the red line at the start of staging through the pit crossover gate on the patio. We will have someone there making sure that if you are in that area you are just walking along the sides and also aren't doing so while cars are racing. You can still use that gate, but you must be moving and not standing.

6. Orange lines are new concrete barriers on each end to more fully enclose the infield while still creating a few lanes for cars and equipment to get off/on.

7. Finally, unless you are working (scorers, flagman, Hank's infield crew, tow truck, Ambulance or Fire, or a series official - you will not be allowed in the infield. And yes, that means pretty much anyone. I'm not sure if Hank is even going to allow me down there but I know he would chase off my wife and kids! We are that serious. I know you are one of our best buddies and great supporters - whoever you are - but this means you as well. Don't put our guys in the position of having to ask you to leave. We should all understand why by now!

Thank you for your support, patience and understanding as we work through these changes in the real world. They won't be perfect at first, but we'll get them to work out in time.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
By: Cole Perkins (Cole Perkins Media & Promotions)

GRAY COURT, SC (June 4, 2024) - Ahead of competing at Eldora Speedway this weekend in Dirt Late Model racingโ€™s richest annual event, Chris Madden has announced he will be stepping back from full-time competition at the conclusion of the 2024 racing season. (Emily Schwanke photo)

Throughout his decorated career, Madden has accumulated over 250 feature wins and secured nine championship titles. The seasoned veteran's foray into the world of racing began when he was just eight years old, with go-kart racing being his first passion. Following a successful stint, he progressed to Dirt Late Model racing in 1995, at the age of 20.

Madden, now 49, will persist in chasing his coveted first World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship this season, before transitioning to a condensed racing schedule in 2025, comprising of roughly six-to-ten events, which will be announced at a later date.

I understand that sometimes it's absolutely necessary to rework a track before the main event. But what ever happened to prepping a track and letting it transition from the start of the night to the end? Yes, sometimes the weather prevents this. But if it's not the weather, then why? Is it bad dirt? Bad prep? Or just the desire to rework the track smack in the middle of the show?

Rain-Filled Weekend Postpones Tazewell's Melvin Corum Memorial to Saturday, June 1st

(Eastaboga, AL - 5/17/24) - The Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series will have to wait just a little bit longer to make its return to Tazewell Speedway. Track and Series officials have made the decision to postpone this weekend's 6th Annual - Melvin Corum Memorial to Saturday night, June 1st. The decision comes off the very soggy expected forecast for most of East Tennessee, with some series drivers coming from 7 to 10 hours away; the risk just wasn't worth taking this weekend. The good news is race fans will not have to wait long before the event returns to Tazewell, as a matter of fact, just 16 days until the event fires back up.

Series Director Adam Stewart glad that a make up date was an option, "We are looking forward to our trip to Tazewell, but Mother Nature has different plans on the agenda for this weekend. We want to thank Gary Hall and the staff at Tazewell for giving thought to our race teams concerning travel and the chances of being able to get the show in. We are also glad that we found a suitable makeup date in just a couple of weeks so we can bring our exciting racing action to one of the most exciting tracks in the country." That date being Saturday, June 1st. This will give drivers four racing weekends in June: Tazewell Speedway on June 1st ($10,000 to-win), Senoia Raceway on June 8th ($3,000 to-win), 411 Motor Speedway on June 22nd ($10,000 to-win), and Cochran Motor Speedway on June 29th ($5,000 to-win).

With the postponement of Tazewell, drivers and teams will now turn their attention to "The Hidden Gem of the South," All-Tech Raceway for the Harvey Jones Memorial next Saturday night, May 25th, in Ellisville, FL. This event will also pay $10,000 to-win and will be in honor of a legend, Harvey Jones. While Jones was a Florida native, he did win an estimated 70 to 80 percent of his races in Georgia. He was the first non-Georgia racer inducted into the Georgia Auto Racing Hall of Fame. The Jacksonville Racing Hall of Fame also inducted Jones. The event will also include a $1,000 to-win Pure Stocks, $500 to-win Crown Vics, and Skeeter Car Racing with a practice scheduled on Friday night, May 24th.

Dennis Erb Racing Invades Clarksville Speedway Following Busy Speedweeks

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) On the heels of a hectic โ€œSpeedweeksโ€ to get their 2024 season started, Dennis Erb Racing has invaded Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee for the opening weekend of the 20th Annual โ€˜Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic.โ€™ On Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2, a pair of $2,500 top prizes will be up for grabs for the Super Late Models. This weekend will also provide important track time for the March 8-9 weekend at Clarksville, which will see a pair of $10,000 winnerโ€™s checks on the line to wrap up the โ€˜Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic.โ€™ More information can be found online at www.ClarksvilleSpeedway.com or you can watch every lap LIVE on www.ClarksvilleSpeedway.tv.

During his stint in Florida and Georgia from January 18-February 24, Dennis Erb Jr competed in twenty high-profile events at Volusia Speedway Park, Golden Isles Speedway, Ocala Speedway, All-Tech Raceway, and East Bay Raceway Park. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace racked up a single Top Five effort and seven Top Ten finishes. His best performance came on Wednesday, February 7 at East Bay Raceway Park where Dennis placed second in his heat race and fifth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series A-Main behind only $7,000 winner Tyler Erb, Mike Marlar, Jonathan Davenport, and Daulton Wilson.

With two of the six World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series shows at Volusia Speedway Park succumbing to Mother Nature, Dennis advanced into all four feature events with the tour at the Daytona Beach-area speedplant. His best finish with the national touring series was a seventh place showing in the $15,000 to win โ€˜Sunshine Nationalsโ€™ finale back on January 20. Dennis emerged from โ€œSpeedweeksโ€ seventh in the latest version of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings.
