Shortly after 5 p.m. on June 28, 1924, the skies darkened and a tornado swept across Lake Erie and made landfall in Lorain. Hundreds of homes and buildings were destroyed and dozens of lives were lost.
Lorain Historical Society along with Lorain County Metro Parks have planned a series of events throughout the summer to commemorate the centennial of the tornado.
