went underground when Botley fell. Deep Cover, but for real this time. Once the city’s brightest rising star, forced to abandon her identity for a life of anonymity. Attention just didn’t slap the same when exclusively dealt out by Botley winos and the Mayor’s rocket-propelled police sentinels - the MicroChipolatas.

But she couldn’t bring herself to leave. Botley Brooks would not be bested by something as trivial as the apocalypse. West Oxford coursed in her veins, thicker than blood itself, inescapable as a round of Cascabels & volatile as an improvised Midori Bomb.

She sought a silver bullet for the Scourge of Seacourt, spurred on by rumours of a mysterious local warlord in possession of a rig so powerful it could shake the very foundations of the Tower. Clues were scant; she had heard only one code word - ‘OX2’.

She raised an eyebrow. A thin whisp of rollie smoke escaped the corner of her mouth along with a wry smile. There was nothing else for it.

Effi Brooks’ Big Slaycation was hitting the road.

We in Oxford marched confidently into climate oblivion as did so many others, blinded by our self-assuredness that sea levels could never rise beyond the heights of The Ridgeway. When all was said and done, it was not the millions of gallons of meltwater that we needed to fear, but something far more insidious that was displaced as the North Pole shrank to nothing - 'That Big Red Bastard'. The Scourge.

His famous philanthropic generosity now spent, The Bastard scoured the globe for new territories to rule. Capitalising upon his celebrity persona, the wreckage of Botley proved the perfect breeding ground for his floundering, far-right, 'festive' agenda. Local councillors soon bowed to his will, rewarding him with the station of Mayor. In short order, the opportunist passed a bill rending his role a lifetime appointment, and invoked executive powers to hijack the Seacourt Tower remodelling - re-shaping the suburbs in his cursed image.

Amidst the ruins, a lone bastion: A sanctuary for the defiant. From the Seacourt Tower zenith, elites sneer at the ‘snowflakes’ down below, unaware of the rekindling rebellion brewing beneath their feet.

Invoking long-forgotten customs, Deep Cover's BOXING DAY BASH signals an uprising—a desperate bid for unity in the ashes of a shattered world. And a great opportunity to ditch your family for a bit after Christmas.

But will our heroes make it in time?
