Today, Factory 25, launched a Kickstarter to save and restore the cult classic film, Skateboard: The Movie from 1978 starring Tony Alva, Leif Garrett, Ellen O'Neal and Allen Garfield.

This 1978 skateboarding cult classic is in danger of disappearing forever. Get on board, and help us create a new archival print of George Gage's cult classic indie feature film Skateboard: The Movie. Together, we can rescue this piece of moviemaking and skateboarding history from the destructive forces of time, and help it reach a wider audience than it's ever had the chance to before.

Skateboard was the first feature film to depict the height of the 70s skateboard craze. Many refer to it as the Bad News Bears of the sport. It’s star studded cast includes Alan Garfield, 70s teen idol Leif Garrett, skateboarding legend Tony Alva, and iconic female freestyler and member of the Skateboarding Hall of Fame Ellen O’Neal.

We've tracked down the only known existing print of the film. And now — with your help — we have the opportunity to show everyone the film in its original glory on a new 35mm print, Blu-ray, digitally and preserve this bit of history for future generations!

And early support means Kickstarter will give the campaign even more visibility! So even if you can just donate a few bucks, it’s welcome!

As you may know due to the global pandemic, the Factory 25 April 17th theatrical release of Other Music Documentary which was planned to coincide with Record Store Day on April 18th, has been cancelled. Factory 25 is now having a “virtual” theatrical release of Other Music starting on April 17th via theaters and record stores.
