In honor of the 50th birthday of Hip-Hop, but song, artist or album was the catalyst for your interest in the genre? For me: the first time I heard Slam was that genesis. I had heard many Hip-Hop songs prior to this one, but Slam was the first time I used my allowance to buy a cassette single and listened to it repeatedly on my sweet song Walkman. It was so raw and aggressive, I found it impossible to not listen to it with bobbing my little pr***en head.

FR 😆 I still have all my vinyl in my 1210s, but I feel no urge to shake my elder millennial cane at anyone who doesn’t want to invest in a set of decks and potential back issues from hauling around milk crates full of records. 😂  Besides, it’s easy to tell someone who has put the work in to learn the craft versus someone who has not.
