When you seek the world, you lose the hereafter. But when you seek the hereafter, you can gain both the world and the hereafter.


O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah, you adhere heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But what is the enjoyment of worldly life compared to the Hereafter except a [very] little.

If you do not go forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment and will replace you with another people, and you will not harm Him at all. And Allah is over all things competent.
(Qur'an - 9 : 38, 39)

And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing them [i.e., the enemy] by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet (ﷺ)] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love.[1] Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allah is the possessor of bounty for the believers.

12 REASONS WHY JESUS (PEACE BE UPON HIM) WAS A MUSLIM
Christians and Muslims are more alike than different. We are in fact almost the same if we follow Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) to the word as he himself taught and lived:

1. Jesus taught that there is only One God and Only God should be worshipped as taught in Deut 6:4, Mark 12:29. Muslims also believe this as taught in the Qur’an verse 4:171.

2. Jesus didn’t eat pork as taught in Leviticus 11:7 , and neither do Muslims as taught in the Qur’an verse 6:145.

3. Jesus greeted with the words “As salaamu alaikum” (Peace be with you) in John 20:21. Muslims also greet each other this way.

4. Jesus always said “God Willing” (in-shaa’-Allah). Muslims say this too before doing anything as taught in the Qur’an verses 18:23-24.

5. Jesus washed his face, hands, and feet before praying. Muslims do the same.

6. Jesus and other prophets of the Bible prayed with their head to the ground (Matthew 26:39). Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verse 3:43.

7. Jesus had a beard and wore a robe. Muslim men do the same. Women also wear long robes.

8. Jesus followed the law and believed in all the prophets, (see Matthew 5:17). Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verse 3:84.

9. Jesus’ mother Mary dressed modestly by covering her body and wearing a headscarf (hijab) as found in 1 Timothy 2:9, Genesis 24:64-65, and Corinthians 11:6. Muslim women too dress modestly as taught in the Qur’an verse 33:59.

10. Jesus and other prophets of the Bible fasted up to 40 days (see Exodus 34:28, Daniel 10:2-6. 1Kings 19:8, and Matthew 4:1-Muslims do so also during the month of Ramadan. Muslims are required to fast the full obligatory 30 days (Qur’an 2:183)

11. Jesus was circumcised. According to the Bible in Luke 2:21, Jesus was eight days old when he was circumcised. Circumcision is one of the five fitrah acts in Islam, so Muslim men and women are required to be circumcised.

12. Jesus spoke Aramaic and called God ”Elah”, which is pronounced the same as “Allah”. Aramaic is an ancient Biblical language. It is one of the Semitic languages that also include Hebrew, Arabic and Ethiopic. The Aramaic”Elah” and the Arabic “Allah” are the same. It means “GOD”. Thus the God of Jesus is also the God of Muslims and of all mankind.

JESUS IS HONORED IN ISLAM THAN IN CHRISTIANITY
1. Jesus was born of a virgin (Qur'an 19:20-22) and Mary her mother is an honored woman but christians claimed Mary married Joseph but had something with God to conceive Jesus

2. Jesus was faultless (Qur'an 19:19) but Galatians 3:13 says he was a curse

3. Jesus was a great healer of the sick through God's permission (Qur'an 3:49; 5:110). It's a miracle that God granted to him and he confirmed in the bible in Matthew 12:28, Luke 11:20

4. Jesus is Sign from God to people (Qur'an 19:21; 21:91) as he was born without an earthly father, Adam created without an earthly father and mother, etc

5. Jesus is a Mercy from God (Qur'an 19:21) but in the bible, he is war and to destabilizes the world, Luke 12:49

6. Jesus is a Witness against those worshipping him on the Day of Resurrection (Qur'an 5:117) as he said in Matthew 7:21-23

7. Jesus created and gave life with God's power and permission (Qur'an 3:49). John 5:30

8. Jesus is the Messiah deby by God only to the children of Israel (Qur'an 4:171)

9. Jesus is the Word of God (Kalamul Allah) (Qur'an 4:171) meaning the command or word of God "Be" and he was conceived without any male intervention.

10. Jesus was taken to heaven by God (Qur'an 4:158) and he will come back to warn all those worshipping him.

11. Jesus will come back again (Qur'an 3:45; 43:61) and will destroy the cross, warn the christians worshipping him.

Islam is the only non-Christian faith, which makes it an article of faith to believe in Jesus (pbuh). No Muslim is a Muslim if he does not believe in Jesus (pbuh).

We believe that he was one of the mightiest Messengers of Allah (SWT).
We believe that he was born miraculously without any male intervention, which many modern day Christians do not believe.
We believe that He gave life to the dead with God's permission.
We believe that He healed those born blind, and the lepers with God's permission.
One may ask, if both Muslims and Christians love and respect Jesus (pbuh), where exactly is the parting of ways? The major difference between Islam and Christianity is the Christians' insistence on the supposed divinity of Christ. A study of the Christian scriptures reveals that Jesus (pbuh) never claimed divinity. In fact there is not a single unequivocal statement in the entire Bible where Jesus (pbuh) himself says, “I am God” or where he says, “worship me”. In fact the Bible contains statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh) in which he preached quite the contrary. Consider the following statements in the Bible, attributed to Jesus Christ (pbuh):

“My Father is Greater than I” (John 14:28)

“My Father is Greater than all” (John 10:29)

“…I cast out devils by the spirit of God….” (Mathew 12:28)

“…. with the finger of God cast out devils..…” (Luke 11:20)

“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge; and my judgement is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father, which hath sent me.” John 5:30

The mission of Jesus Christ (pbuh) — he came to fulfill the Law:

Jesus (pbuh) never claimed divinity for himself. He clearly announced the nature of his mission. Jesus (pbuh) was sent by God to confirm the previous Judaic law. This is clearly evident in the following statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh) in the Gospel of Mathew:

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the Prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. (The BibIe, Mathew 5: 17-20)

Quran 24:31] And tell the believing women to subdue their eyes, and maintain their chastity. They shall not reveal any parts of their bodies, except that which is necessary. They shall cover their chests, (with their Khimar) and shall not relax this code in the presence of other than their husbands, their fathers, the fathers of their husbands, their sons, the sons of their husbands, their brothers, the sons of their brothers, the sons of their sisters, other women, the male servants or employees whose sexual drive has been nullified, or the children who have not reached puberty. We have talked about the father of faith, we have talked about a defect, we have said about the father of Zinnad, about the arrogant, about my father of Huraira, the Prophet peace be upon him said, "No one enters the paradise unless I see his abode in the Fire, if he does wrong, he will increase his gratitude. And no one enters the Fire unless I see his place in the Paradise, if he does good, it will be regretful for him."

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said,

"None will enter Paradise but will be shown the place he would have occupied in the (Hell) Fire if he had rejected faith,
so that he may be more thankful;

and none will enter the (Hell) Fire but will be shown the place he would have occupied in Paradise if he had faith,
so that may be a cause of sorrow for him."

My revert to Islam story. I met my wife in Turkey in 1996 and we married in 1997. Both of us were not religious at that time. Fast forward about 10 years. My wife started to become interested in her religion of Islam. In about two years time she realized that it was a sin to have married a Christian, much less stay married to a Christian. So she was begging me to revert to Islam. I had no idea what Islam was about and I was thinking that I needed to convert her to Christianity. As I was in the military I was set to go on a deployment to Qatar. We made each other a deal. I would read the Quran and she would read the Bible. We both did. My plan backfired, because the Quran was so amazing and pure and without contradictions. My wife found the Bible very confusing and full of contradictions. I told my wife, let me re-read the Bible. Over six months I re-read the Bible, but after reading the Quran it read so different. So, then I re-read the Quran. After two years of wrestling with my inner conflict. I realized, I can't deny the truth. So, in Rapid City, South Dakota at a Ramadan Iftar meal; I took my Shahada in 2009. I have been progressing as a Muslim ever since. Studying Hadith and Sunna. I went on Umrah once. Can't wait to go again.
