Year 58 A.S. (2024 for those on the Gregorian Calendar) Update:
This show is not dead; nor is my companion show, Dark Whispers. I have suffered a myriad of personal setbacks due to illness, moving four times in four years, and losing a lot of progress/work.
This show has been on hiatus for longer than I ever had wanted. I have tried to reboot/start a new season for the show multiple times over the last four years. Each time I made any progress, I suffered some kind of setback that caused me to lose my recording or my script or whatever work I had done up until that point. It’s been a number of stops and restarts and setbacks and frustration.
When I started these podcasts, podcasts didn’t have the insane popularity they do right now. When I first started my shows and I told people I did a podcast, I had to then explain what a podcast was and how to listen to one. It wasn’t very sexy at all. In the time since I put these podcasts on semi-permanent hiatus, a funny thing happened: thanks to likes of Joe Rogan and his podcasts now not only does everyone and their mother know what a podcast is, it seems like they all have their own podcast too. I have had fans reach out to me personally through social media asking when they can expect new episodes. It was somewhat of a surprise to me that I not only still had loyal listening that were clamoring for more but entirely new ones that had discovered the shows since their hiatus. I was humbled and flattered to put it mildly.
All of this is not offered as an excuse for being on hiatus for so long but something of an explanation. I haven’t been idle creativity all this time, either. I have been doing work on other creative projects (a tabletop wargames/miniatures youtube channel) and focusing hard on my songwriting (Vaylin Twilight on Soundcloud).
I wanted to offer you all this little update to explain my absence and the shows hiatus and to reassure they are still coming back. That is my goal for this year come hell or high water. Dark Whispers will be back when I am able to acquire/afford a proper DJ mixer and scratch turntables (so that I can take my custom mixes to the next level for yall).
As for Dark Voices, I plan on bringing the show back in its original story telling format. I may still do interviews like I did for so many episodes, but the majority of the show will return to me talking intothe mic telling stories with my cheeky editing. Will also be recording full video for each episode watchable for free on YouTube as well for all those that want some visual stimulus too.
When I have updates, news, the new YouTube channel, etc. I will post here and to my instagram. Thank you to all of you who have reached out and are still listening. Y’all mean the world to me 💕.
