You are invited to submit work to Hasty Apparatus, a new digital publication of art and design that features unbuilt, unbuildable, and visionary projects. This is a call for representational or figurative works in a variety of media, responding to weekly, thematic prompts. Responding to questions around how we produce culture, I hope to build a digital (and ultimately, print) publication of our re
sponses to conditions in contemporary culture, built environment, politics, our neighborhoods, etc., that places rapidly-produced visual representations within the realm of social discussion. Submitted pieces should be original work, less than 1MB, and produced quickly (taking no more than 1-2 hours). Include title and tags, if applicable. If your submitted image is chosen, I will notify you before publishing online, and you will remain the owner of your work. Accepted media: digital assemblage, drawing, sketch, illustration, rendering, diagram, or manipulated photography. No video, vanilla photography, or purely abstract work, please. If you would like to participate on a regular or semi-regular basis, I will send you weekly reminder emails with the current prompt.
