正在電影始創於2001年，為香港最活躍之電影企業之一。業務函蓋電影投資、製作及發行宣傳多方面。公司分別於香港、北京及台北三地設有工作室。2004及2005年製作《公主復仇記》及《AV》獲選金紫荊「十大華語電影」；2010年製作網絡短片《四夜奇譚》系列，點擊率達四億，開創中國網絡短片先河；同年製作電影《志明與春嬌》，中港票房達人民幣一億元，並獲《Time Out》雜誌選為「一百部最佳香港電影」；同年之《維多利亞壹號》及2012年製作之《低俗喜劇》，則橫掃全球數十個國際影展，贏得十多個台前幕後之奬項，兩片更同時被英國電影協會（British Film Institute）選為「十大香港電影」；2014年《香港仔》於第三十四屆香港電影金像獎獲最佳電影及編劇等七項提名，同年《撒嬌女人最好命》於中國內地獲二億三千萬票房，及金像獎最佳女主角提名。近年積極參與英語製作，包括投資出品美國的《《You Were Never Here》及新加坡的《Apprentice》等。同時亦發展專注驚慄片的分支品牌「正在尖叫」（Making Horror)
