Another news guild is striking…

The Buffalo Newspaper Guild stands in solidarity with the Newspaper Guild of Rochester as its members make the tough decision to strike in the face of unreasonable demands from their corporate owner, Gannett. As a Western New York neighbor, we have watched Gannett underinvest in the Democrat and Chronicle, its employees and the Rochester community for too long. We stand with the Rochester journalists and Guild members fighting for a so they can cover the news in the way readers deserve.

Last weekend, I talked with Bob Batz Jr., who edits the strike paper. He sent hellos to former co-workers in Dayton and remained resolute about the strike.

We have an alcohol permit for beer and wine only but please do not bring anything in glass bottles.
