My Why 🤍

I started my online business for one main reason.....

To gain time freedom and spend more moments with my family. 🤍

I didn't start it to become a millionaire or buy luxury items. Maybe those things will come in the future, but for now, my focus is on having more free time and making memories.

Time is the most precious thing we have, and once it's gone, we can't get it back. ⏳

Last year, I realized how important this is, and it changed my life. There's nothing more valuable than time🤍

Throwback to our adventure in Spain when Lyra had just turned 9months old. Reflecting on that time, I felt a mix of gratitude and anxiety.

Gratitude for being able to travel with Lyra this was her third flight in 9months we made so many precious memories along the way.

Anxiety that I soon knew my time with her was coming to an end and I was to return to work very soon, I was in my last 3months of maternity leave and I know they would fly by just like 9months flew by.

But through this Lyra became my driving force for change.

I promised to reevaluate the path I was on and to make significant changes for our family’s future. ✨

I vowed to find a way to never have to compete for precious time off again, to be present for as much of your childhood as humanly possible.

You inspired me to break free from generations of unhealthy beliefs and patterns, to pave the way for a better, brighter future for you. 💫

Your presence in my life ignited a fire within me to prioritize my own well-being so that I could be the best version of myself for you.

It was a promise not just to you, but to myself as well – a commitment to leading by example and creating a life filled with love, joy, and fulfillment.

Sharing the joy of Sunday park walk with my little family fills my heart with happiness.

Reunited after what feels like a lifetime apart! From working retail together in 2014 to travelling to many countries together our friendship has weathered every storm.

Life took us on different paths – nursing for her, photography for me – making our meetups rare treasures due to busy work schedules.

But thanks to my online business, we finally found the time to catch up, laugh, and reminisce about our adventures.

It's amazing how we just pick up where we left off, like no time has passed.

Grateful for this friendship that withstands the test of time.

This meetup was long overdue, especially since I haven't been out properly since having Lyra. It was nice to feel like myself again, not just 'Lyra's mum.'

When I first held my baby, the world seemed to stand still. I envisioned a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless adventures with my growing family.

Little did I know, the end of my maternity leave would leave me feeling lost and overwhelmed with guilt. Like many of us, I didn't anticipate the emptiness that followed.

I craved more than just 12 months of precious time with my little ones. I yearned for a forever of cherished moments and uninterrupted connection.

So, with a newfound determination, I went down on a different path, I refused to let the clock dictate my bond with my baby girl.

I jumped into building my own business despite the fear because when I scarily sat down and thought about I had nothing to loose, either work hard for a few years and put in around 2-3 hours a day or work more than 8 hours a day until I'm 66 which is the retirement age in the uk, it's going to increase again 2026.

The baby girl that I had once hoped and prayed for was not going to be raised by someone else, I wanted to be present for every milestone, every giggle, and every hug.

And you know what? It was the best decision I ever made.

It wasn't easy juggling entrepreneurship and motherhood, but the reward of never having to choose between my dreams and my baby girl was priceless.

I knew that the sacrifices were only short term.

So here's to rewriting the narrative of motherhood. Here's to seizing control of our futures and crafting a life that prioritises what truly matters: family. Because in the end, it's not about the hours we spend at work, but the moments we create with the ones we love most.

Fear can really hold us back, but we can change our relationship with it.

But how do we go about doing this?

You need to acknowledge them and start facing them.

When I started my own business, I had so many fears

✨I was worrying whether I would have enough time, ✨worrying about what others would think of me,
✨what if I can't do this
✨what if I look silly speaking about things online
✨what if people me judge me

The list is endless....To say I was scared was an understatement.

But when I confronted these fears, I realised they were just obstacles I could overcome.

Instead of worrying, I started thinking about how I could make time for what mattered, how I could grow into a better version of myself, and how great it would feel to improve with practice.

Shifting my perspective helped me regain control and become unstoppable. So, don't let fear stop you.

Keep pushing forward and turn fear into fuel for success 🤍

There are two ways you can spend your maternity leave. I experienced both of these whilst on maternity leave.

1) The first option, when you feel a strong desire to stay with your little ones forever and never return to work. Hoping for things to change but do nothing about it.

I didn't do anything, until a few months before my maternity leave about to end to improve my situation, and unfortunately, my leave ended sooner than I wanted.

When I had to go back to work. The feeling of guilt was real nothing that I had felt before.

How would my little one cope, being without me when she had been with me everyday for the first 12months of her life. I was her world and she was mine💕

At this point I was praying and hoping something would turn up, and I remember saying to my husband I need something that would allow me to work around Lyra's needs so I can earn and look after her at the same time.

This is where option 2 comes in, which I discovered a couple of months before my maternity leave was about to end.

I realized that going back to work wasn't what I truly wanted. I wanted to be my own boss, have control over my time, and earn enough money to create the life I desired.

This led me to the second option:

2) Find an opportunity that aligns with your goals and start building your own online business, keep working at it, despite the fear.

Because let me tell you that there's nothing worse than that dreaded feeling you get when maternity leave has ended and you have no choice but to go back to work.

The only regret I have is not starting sooner.

If you've come to the realization that you want more from life than just one year of maternity leave.

Instead of ignoring your desires and hoping they'll go away, face them head-on and take action to pursue what you truly deserve.

Enjoy the process and embrace the growth that comes with it.

You don't have to settle for less anymore.

To my sweetest little champ, the one who made me a mama for the very first time.

You’ve taught me so much.

You showed me what truly matters in life.

You made me rethink how I was living and where I was heading.

You’ve taught me to be patient and kind to myself, because you’re always watching and need me to set a good example.

You made me realize my potential when I was settling for less, and you inspired me to chase my dreams.

You’ve opened up new possibilities and shown me that there’s more to life than the 9-5 grind.

It’s because of you I started venturing down a new path which has enabled me to never miss out on your childhood and for that I'll be forever grateful.

Last year my goal was to build my online business so my maternity leave never had to end and I could spend endless moments with my baby girl and be a present mama throughout her childhood.

This year my goal has become my reality and I will continue to sacrifice a few hours each day working on my business so that I can have a life time of memories with my little girl, but more importantly continue to help other mamas who are wanting the same to start up their online business. 🤍

Ever imagined your work-life would be a garden playdate instead of an office routine? 🌻 Dive into my journey of unexpected joys and flexibility that comes with blending parenthood and business.

The suns out after all the rain we are playing in the garden.... the plan was for Lyra to run around, but she didn't want to. She still loves sitting in her pram when we are out on walks, we got her a trike last summer so she was more than happy to sit down whilst I pushed her around.

I never imagined that this would be how spend my days with her, I always thought she would be in nursery by now and I would be back to work full time, because I thought there was no other choice.

But this business has changed my life in more ways that I had ever imagined, this is how I get to spend my Thursdays with her and most other days during week, and I'll be forever grateful to have these moments with her because she will never be this little again 🫶🏽

And I don't have to answer to anyone, I get choose how I live my life 🤍

We've been travelling with Lyra since she was 2months old, and we've loved it despite the stress every moment has been worth it. I had absolutely no experience when it came down to anything business related to say I was scared is and understatement.

But the thought of working 9-5 for the next 35-40 years was even more worrying that was not the life I wanted, working 5 days a week and having two days off. Always wishing for the week to be over waiting for the weekend and seeing my baby girl for only a few hours a day.
This was not the life I wanted, before having Lyra I probably would have settled for the 9-5 because I thought there was no way out, but as soon as she came along in 2022 everything changed.

And because of the decision I made 2024 will be the year I get to live the life I had once dreamt of and prayed for. 💫The only regret I have is not starting this sooner.
Start living life on your terms, invest in yourself and your family. Time is so precious you only have a few short years where your kids are little, it will go by so quickly, so be present for those little memories.

I can honestly say this will be best decision you'll ever make.🤍
