Watching this interview felt like I was watching a p**s forum discussion IRL and it made me laugh. “Once you p**s in somebody’s mouth, you’ll never want to use porcelain again” is quite a bold claim.

Oh, I forgot to say thanks to James, Susa & Sophie for the unexpected xmas card. Funny to get that sort of thing so many years after sending magnets. It was appreciated! My family doesn't really do cards anymore... I kind of wish we did!

Spotify made this dumb wrap-up for the podcast for the year. The #1 streamed episode was the shoplifting one where I read the too-long list of stores shoplifting deterrents. Still funny that the #1 shared episode is clearly the one that people are not going to want to listen to as a jump-in point. LOL and sigh. Thanks for the continued listens folks! Happy holidays!

A funny Lou Reads related anecdote. This past weekend I attended a Ska Music festival near Norfolk, VA. While I was there I was wearing the shirt you see in the photo attached. I was talking to my cousin and. I noticed a guy kind of give me an odd look and the pass by a couple of times. Then this man came by and asked “is that jersey about Lou Reads the Internet?” I said “yeah!” And he replied “I’m so bummed he stopped making that Podcast.” And I said “It’s Me!” And he said “Oh. I don’t remember there being a picture of you on the podcast. Well, I’m sad you stopped making the podcast.” We had a brief discussion and then he walked away.

To this stranger who never introduced himself I wanted to let you know that was a hilarious BucketList item for me. At the height of the show I sometimes wondered if I’d be recognized randomly at like a comic-con or some other fringe event. But in 10 years it never happened. It still kind of didn’t happen but the fact that someone randomly made the connection from my nickname jersey to the podcast and happened to be a ska music fan and a Lou Reads fan and bothered to put the two things together and say anything to a stranger? I would gather that the odds were pretty small.

Thank you, kind stranger, for making a great weekend even better!

Just a heads up. I will most likely be taking the website, this page and entire podcast down in the near future. While I have toyed with reviving the podcast and doing a look back at how badly some episodes have aged, I have to face facts. There is a very real possibility that the podcast is actually hurting my job prospects at this point. Sadly, people don’t seem to be able to look past the content to the craft. I don’t have any direct evidence that this is the case but based on previous negative interactions it certainly has potential to be a problem.

If you want to make sure you have downloaded everything you want to keep I recommend doing that soon. Feel free to share the podcast as torrents or whatever.

Thanks to an FCPX plugin I bought being wrecked by an update and never getting fixed for 4 months, my podcast conversion project took a vacation.
