NoFrillsMusic.com an independent label for improvised music.

NoFrillsMusic.com was started by Saxophonist Blaise Siwula currently from Brooklyn, NY after 40 years of performing free music ie improvised music ie spontaneously composed music in NY and around the world. The musicians are primarily new acquaintances from over the past 5 years that have presented a unique take on improvised music. The most recent CD is "Mérida Encuentro - Mérida Swings" recorded

in Mérida MX this past May (2013) with Armando Martin guitars, Edgar Caamal drums, Alvar Canto Torres guitar and Blaise Siwula clarinet and alto sax. This cd is a follow up from "New York Encuentro" with pianist Katsuyuki Itakura, drummer Richard Gilman-Opalsky and Blaise Siwula alto and tenor sax. The third cd was "Call Red Dragon" a quartet with Robyn Siwula violin/viola, Mike Irwin trumpet, Dmitry Ishenko bass and Brian Adler drums...with Blaise Siwula alto sax as a guest artist. The first cd was "Blaise Siwula Live in London" Blaise Siwula solo tenor sax with one duet track featuring Alan Wilkinson baritone sax.

Heading back to Brooklyn tomorrow (Thursday 26) then off to Istanbul for two weeks and back to Merida around Dec 8th. But on Thursday November 2nd I will be performing with Adam Lane and Vijay Anderson at I-beam. Check it out if you're around.
