Whenever I wanted the bog labels to do something meaning they would have one thing to say, "Bhai Sahib, this product will not sell much..." I realized that these people are just serving themselves. In 2004, I started Anad Records to be able to write contemporary history in the field but in qualitative and dignified a manner. I wanted to use the finest materials, try to m
atch it with research, publish music that represented not just the finest forms but that which is deemed as precious, invaluable and indispensable; musical instruments that had not been published ever before; and to research out and publish those musician-memorists who have not been published just because they were not known and for the fact that they did not have connections nor any means or money to puibish themselves. We are proud to have published two instruments, Jori-pakhawaj, and Dhurpadi Rabab, that had never been published before in the history of audio-visual industry. Projects like these are only possible by way of your support. To research out maestros, to document them responsibly, to publish their work in an archival format, all of this needs a lot of human and financial resources.
