This photo sparks in my mind how fear has been used against us when dealing with the unknown for a very long time. I feel like if the general public would accept all of our inevitable fates there would be peace. Accept your death to set yourself free while you’re still here.

Lúnasa Cascadia:
A five day bonfire campout, and music festival with live bands, ritual performance, art, and artisans, taking place in the beautiful Pacific Northwest forest at Dundee Lodge. Located just west of Portland in Gaston Oregon next to Hagg Lake.

We cordially invite you to join our eclectic family in the woods.

Go follow to see line ups and keep yourself up to date leading up to the festival.

We’re honored to not only be asked to play, but to conduct a bonfire lighting ritual before our set. We hope you can join us!

Noisepoetnobody: Potential vs Eventual (2022) - mini-review

US artist Noisepoetnobody released the EP "Potential vs Eventual" back in the spring of 2022, and experimental music is what we are provided with on this production. The material here resides somewhere in between ambient music and soundscapes, in this case with a futuristic orientation of the dystopian kind. Light toned fluctuating textures, noise effects, drones, reverberations and various kinds of electronic impulses combine to create sound pictures here, the kind of material that would be well suited to use as the soundtrack of a movie describing a future world in the dying days of it's existence. In this case with sounds that for me comes with associations towards a machine driven society quietly collapsing due to age and lack of maintenance, with computers sending out flawed commands to machines and robots with malfunctioning receivers that are breaking apart while trying to complete tasks with faulty orders further flawed by a broken machine interpretation. If sounds that can inspire such landscapes sounds like an intriguing prospect for you, chances are very good that this is an EP you will find to be quite the rewarding experience I gather.

MONDAY begins a series of Butoh dance classes at the Teatro de la Psychomachia in Seattle. This “dance of darkness” originating in Japan seeks to move within the realm of the shadow self, in the places where nature and human are one and the same, and in the places where the self-righteous look away. Vanessa will be teaching once again on Monday evenings. DM for details!

Joining them on the bill are fellow butoh dance master Helen Thorsen accompanied by Jackie An on violin, and liturgically inspired multimedia artist Scuzz Nun. Vanessa Skantze provided one of the most powerful and emotive performances ever at the Good Shepherd Center Chapel Performance Space in Seattle. With a vocal and movement piece, they filled the room with poems, dance and absolute mastery of both.
