While Peyman Heidary got a prison sentence of 54 years; he was just sentenced recently in April 2024; Sim Hoffman, M.D. got not-guilty verdict pretty recently in 2022.

Go figure… They were both master exploiters of the workers’ compensation claims system and in a similar manner. That is this writer’s view.

Peyman Heidary was arrested on July 23, 2014, but his original complaint was not written and completed until on or about July 25, 2014 by the Riverside County District Attorney’s office.

His trial didn’t happen until almost 10 years later, in January 2024. Then, on April 12, 2024, he was sentenced to 54 years and eight months in state prison, which came along with $23 million in fines.

Peyman Heidary’s criminal case started as a complaint filed by the Riverside County District Attorney on July 25th 2014.

This was the first pleading document filed on Heidary what finally would get replaced by an Indictment on May 16th 2016 and would mushroom into a sentence of 54 years and eight months in prison along with 23 million dollars in fines. So, it wasn’t until nearly 10 years later after the filed complaint that the Riverside County Superior Court handed out this enormous sentence on April 12th 2024.

Joey Buttafuoco, the infamous, notorious adulterer who was charged with statutory r**e in the early 1990s, and then thereafter in March of 2004 pleaded guilty to auto insurance fraud, has resurfaced with a girlfriend on TikTok decades after his teen lover, Amy Fisher, shot his wife in the face.

Amy Fisher was dubbed the “Long Island Lolita” by the media at the time.

Yesterday, Friday, April 12th 2024, Judge Charles Koosed in Department 54 in Riverside County Superior Court sentenced defendant Peyman Heidary to 54 years and 8 months in state prison and imposed a fine of more than 23 million dollars. Restitution for the victims will be finalized on August 23rd 2024.

Well, Beverly Grove is actually teetering on the edge of Beverly Hills and is technically called Beverly Hills Post Office. However, that strip of neighborhood is no longer the step-child of Beverly Hills.

Peyman Heidary’s date for sentencing is now scheduled for April 1st 2024. It was moved forward in time from March 1st 2024 because the probation department needed more time to work on their sentencing report.

On January 18th 2024, a jury in Riverside at the Riverside Superior Court found Peyman Heidary guilty of fraud. He was convicted on 69 counts of workers’ compensation claims related fraud.

On February 29th 2024, just last Thursday, defendant Matthew Rifat, who was indicted with Shannon Moore, Janek Hunt, and Dr. Munir Uwaydah on January 17th 2019 by the Riverside County District Attorney, had all the charges dismissed against him. The case number is RIF 1990022. There are 70 felony counts in that indictment.

After having the judge in his preliminary hearing find no probable cause for his arrest and also found him in court a month later to be “factually innocent”, Rifat moved forward with a felony Complaint against Jones for wrongful arrest and other charges.

Matthew Rifat went to work for Blue Oak Medical Group in November of 2015. He is an attorney.

Blue Oak Medical radiated out from Riverside, the inland empire, and the desert in Southern California. So, it operated and saw patients mostly south and east of Los Angeles, east of San Diego, and southeast of Orange County.

The last date that got set for Rifat’s second trial, after getting continued a few times, was for March 13th 2024. His first trial resulted in a mistrial on July 1st 2022.

Rony M. Barsoum and Jorge Humberto Reyes had their cases dismissed February 1, 2024. Robin Jacobs’ case was dismissed on January 29, 2024.

These three applicants’ attorneys were part of the original June 5, 2017 Complaint from the Orange County District Attorney. This complaint was rife with charges of workers’ compensation claims fraud.

There were originally 10 applicants’ attorneys charged.
