Two issues of Jack Grimm are complete and slated for release early this year.
These two issues were both a bit of an experiment, each in their own way.
Issue 12, I went in a whole different direction and barely used any black ink. No heavy fills, and no black gutters.
Issues 13, went completely the other way. Black, black, and more black! And.. it's a "silent" issue, with no words at all!

Last fall I posted a cover for issue 12 of Jack Grimm. Long story short, I got swamped and it hasn't been published yet.
The good news is, now there are two issues of Jack Grimm nearly ready to go.
I'll be publishing them simultaneously, and running a combination Kickstarter, to save you money on shipping.

A long overdue update to the world of Jack Grimm.
I've recently finished a few extra pages that will act as an epilogue to the upcoming Collected Jack Grimm Volume One. Now that that's done, I'm going to be going through my old pages from issues 1-6 and adding a bit of gray tones here and there to spruce things up a bit.
I won't be redrawing anything. These extra pages make it apparent enough that my drawing ability has changed alot since I started, and if I started redrawing things I didn't like, I'd almost have to redo the whole series!

As to the future of the book, I have 3 more issues done, that for various reasons (some may call them excuses) haven't been published. I won't bother running a December Kickstarter, as I think most people's budgets are stretched pretty far this month as it is. Maybe early in the new year, I'll kick things off and start getting books out on a more regular basis.
My apologies to those die hard fans that have been patiently waiting. This, unfortunately, turned into the year Jack Grimm took a holiday.

And... ACTION! I really pushed myself to add a lot more to issue 11. I'm not big on drawing fight scenes, (and really, the nature of the book is not something that requires alot of slugfests anyway) but I'm quite happy with how this page turned out.

More doodling with a ballpoint pen. I like the way Jack's hat and clothes look a little more animated in this sketch. I think I'll revisit this in the future with my normal inking style.

My apologies for being so quiet on my social media lately. I've been working hard on the interior pages of issue 11 and am happy to say that they are about 90% complete!
Following this, I will head right into drawing issue 12 which will cap off the current story. After that? Who knows? Maybe a Trade Paperback Collection. 👻

Thanks to everyone who supported the latest Jack Grimm Kickstarter! It's a little weird that I ran a Kickstarter for a Halloween Special halfway through November, but it got off to a late start and I wanted it to run a full course.
It did phenomenally well though, racking up a bunch of new pledges on the final day and a half! Extra thanks goes out to the great folks over at the MOMENT OF CEREBUS website, and the WAVERLY PRESS which gave this project a much needed boost in the last few days.
