Dear world,
I want to start this post with an quote that will make sense after you read the whole text:
"Only the dead have seen the end of war"
My empathy for the oppressed is always a big obstacle for my well being even tho i am proud that i am like i am! But the recent aggression by the Russian military and their political leaders sick expansional adventures at the cost of unnecessary civilian life loss made some of my own emotions and feelings coming out of that box that i was somehow able to lock into a mental-box 30 years ago.
As a war survivor in my childhood i was somehow able to process all the trauma that the aggressor created by invading my country of Bosnia and Hercegovina back in the 90s. I locked up the emotions of fear when bombs and shells were falling down into your yard and penetrating your apartment block for 3 years, the emotion of confusion when you remember your parents taking you by your hand and running down into the basement with other 100 people to seek shelter from falling bombs, over and over again. The innocence of a child's playful mind substituted with fear, hunger and the view of all of your family around you with the empty and confused face expression - wondering: "how the hell can a european capital city be under a siege in the 20th century"
For the last 3 days i can barely sleep, old enemies are molestering me and i can hear sirens in my dreams, i hear explosions and the same nightmare is bringing back all the emotions that i locked up to stay sane.
The point is that under no circumstances, no matter what - a child should not experience such horror not even for a minute! What ever the point of this meaningless military invasion is the results will be devastating for 2 or more generations just like it is in Bosnia, even 30 years after. The aftermath on your mental state is much worse than any loss or win, result and military or political goal.
To my friends trapped in Ukraine - i really understand with all my soul what you are going through right now and that my doors are always open for all of you and i hope this madness will take a turn into a better, because wars are not needed and the aggressor will learn that sooner or later!
To all my Russian friends:
I also know that you are not the nations voice represented by forward marching soldiers and war mongering messages by your political leader! I also understand that the world is and will keep on judging the Russian aggression as a collective guilt of a whole nation, just like the Serbs have been judged! The world needs to be aware that the guilt is only on the political leadership of the nations - Russian Federation, not the people of Russia!
You, my Russian friends, have a huge responsibility to stand up and get your voice heard, you have now the power to stop the madness by protesting in your hometown, by blocking institutions, by protesting how ever hard it is right now and a lot of you will face sanctions, but i am on the side of the one who will rather speak up against injustice and face sanctions than stay quite and be part of the problem!
This msg is for the reason to take over, to remind the human species that war never got anything good out of it, only more problems!
At the end, you all are my slavic brothers and sisters, and after that we are all brothers and sisters!
I say no to war! ✊
