The Asotin Panthers opened their season with a wild 34-29 win over the Tri-Cities Prep Jaguars in a non-league football game Saturday night! Peter Eggleston had a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown to break a 21-21 tie wth 1:04 left in the game, and after Tri-Cities Prep scored a touchdown and a 2-point conversion to take the lead with 23.6 seconds left, Eggleston returned the ensuing kickoff 80 yards with 9.1 seconds left for the winning score. Asotin (1-0) heads out on the road next Friday to take on River View at 7pm. Good luck and GO PANTHERS!!

The Moscow Bears defeated the Clarkston Bantams 19-6 in a non-league football game Friday night at Clarkston. Quarterback Noah Velasco had 2 touchdown passes and a touchdown run for the Bears (3-0). Hayden Line threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Niko Ah Hi for the Bantams (0-1). Clarkston will host Lewiston next Friday in the annual Battle of the Bridges at 7pm. Good luck and GO BANTAMS!!

The Lewiston Bengals won their home opener in style, upsetting the #1- ranked Coeur d' Alene Vikings 13-6 Thursday night in non- league football action. The game was moved up a day to accommodate for the lack of game officials. The game was scoreless late in the second half when the Vikings capped off a 99-yard drive with a touchdown run but missed the extra point. Then on the ensuing kickoff, Nathan King outran everybody for a return touchdown and Cole Arlint's extra point gave the Bengals a 7-6 lead. The Bengals added another touchdown one possession later and the defense did the rest, forcing their fifth turnover of the night with an interception with less than a minute to go. The Bengals (1-1) will travel to Clarkston next Friday night at 7pm to take on the Bantams in the annual Battle of the Bridges. Congratulations Bengals and good luck this season!

The Clarkston Bantams ended their season with two close losses at the Washington State 2A Softball Tournament in Selah Saturday. The Bantams were knocked into the losers' bracket by Franklin Pierce 6-3, and then Rochester broke a 4-4 tie with 3 runs in the fourth inning and went on to win 8-5. The Bantams, the GSL and District 8 champions, finish their season with a record of 21-4, one of the best seasons in Clarkston softball history. Congratulations on a sensational season and GO BANTAMS!!!!

The Clarkston Bantams received the #7 seed in next weekend's Washington State 2A Softball Tournament in Selah, as revealed by the WIAA Sunday. The Bantams (21-2), the District 8 Champions, will play the #10-seed Franklin Pierce Cardinals of Tacoma (18-3), the 4th-place team out of the District 2/3 Tournament. The Bantams, riding an 11-game winning streak, will play on Field 3 at Carlon Park Friday morning at 9am. Good luck and GO BANTAMS!!!!

The Clarkston Bantams defeated the Shadle Park Highlanders 10-8 in the District 8 softball championship at the Lincoln Middle School ballfields Saturday! The back-and-forth affair finally tipped in the Bantams' favor when they pushed across three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and the defense kept the Highlanders scoreless over the final two frames. The Bantams (21-2) and Highlanders (15-7) both advance to the Washington State 2A tournament in Selah beginning Friday. The 16-team bracket will be revealed Sunday at noon. The Clarkston Bantam softball team earned their first trip to the State tournament in 17 years after defeating the Pullman Greyhounds 12-1 in the semifinals of the District 8 tournament at the Lincoln Middle School ballfields Thursday night! Emma McManigle dominated in the circle, giving up only three hits and a walk while striking out seven. Joey Miller provided the big blow on offense with a 3-run home run over the fence in straightaway center field to highlight a 5-run second inning. The Bantams (20-2), ranked #6 in the latest 2A RPI poll, will host Shadle Park Saturday at noon in the District Championship. Good luck and GO BANTAMS!!!

The #7-ranked Clarkston Bantams will host the Pullman Greyhounds in the semifinals of the District 8 softball tournament Thursday at the Lincoln Middle School ballfields. The #4-seeded Greyhounds defeated the #5-seed East Valley Knights 8-4 Wednesday night. The Bantams (19-2 overall) won their first GSL softball title with a record of 14-1 and are the #1 seed. This is a loser-out game, and the winner will play for the District Championship on Saturday at noon and also will qualify for the Washington State 2A Softball Tournament at Selah next weekend. First pitch is at 4pm, and the team is asking fans to wear black. Good luck and GO BANTAMS!!!

The #7-ranked Clarkston Bantams will host one of the semifinals in the District 9 softball tournament this Thursday at 4pm at the Lincoln Middle School ballfields. The #6-ranked Clarkston Bantams swept the West Valley Eagles 14-3 and 15-8 to win their first GSL softball title! Emma McManigle dominated at the plate and in the circle in Game 1 as she cranked a home run and two doubles while keeping the Eagle bats quiet. In Game 2, Murray Broemeling got the win while also clubbing a 3-run dinger. The Bantams (19-2 overall,14-1 GSL) will now host the District tournament on May 18 beginning at noon, with the top two teams advancing to the Washington State 2A tournament in Selah the following weekend. The #9-ranked Clarkston Bantams swept the Shadle Park Highlanders in a GSL doubleheader Friday night at the Lincoln Middle School ballfields! In Game 1, the Bantams scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 5 and won in the bottom of the ninth inning on a Brooke Blaydes sacrifice fly to score Joey Miller to give the Bantams the 6-5 win. Emma McManigle pitched all nine innings of the epic thriller, which lasted just over two and a half hours. In Game 2, Murray Broemeling held the Highlanders scoreless for the final three innings and the Bantam defense was solid, while the offense put together multiple runs every inning in a 15-3 blowout. The game ended after 4 and a half innings because of the mercy rule. The Bantams ended Shadle Park's 49-game winning streak over league opponents. Seven Bantam seniors played their final regular-season home games: Blaydes, McManigle, Broemeling, Leah Copeland, Keeley Ubachs, Amber Stoker, and Nataley York. The Bantams (17-2 overall, 12-1 GSL) also moved into first place in league play and can win their first GSL softball title on Tuesday by winning at least one game in their doubleheader at West Valley to end the regular season. The #9-ranked Clarkston Bantams scored in every inning and eventually claimed a GSL softball victory over the Pullman Greyhounds by a score of 12-2 at the Lincoln ballfields Tuesday afternoon! The game ended after 6 innings because of the mercy rule. The Bantams (13-2 overall, 9-1 GSL) are firmly in second place, one game behind Shadle Park. The Bantams' next game is Tuesday against Rogers in Spokane at 4pm. Good luck and GO BANTAMS!!

The #5-ranked Clarkston Bantams swept a doubleheader against the Rogers Pirates in GSL softball action Saturday at the Lincoln Middle School playfields! Senior pitchers Emma McManigle and Murray Broemeling both had complete games as Clarkston won the first game 24-1 and the second game 24-5. Both games were called after the fifth inning because of the mercy rule. Clarkston (10-1 overall, 6-0 GSL) will travel to Spokane Tuesday to take on fellow unbeaten league rival Shadle Park at 4pm. The Clarkston Bantam Girls Basketball team caught fire from three-point land and put on an offensive show in the second half to secure the 3rd-place trophy at the Washington State 2A tournament at the Yakima SunDome with a convincing 64-38 victory over the Prosser Mustangs! The Bantams (26-2) held a slim 21-18 lead at the break and then turned on the jets, outscoring the Mustangs 43-20 over the final 16 minutes. Junior Ella Leavitt led the Bantams with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Senior Kendall Wallace added 14 points and junior Ryann Combs came off the bench to chip in 10 points. The Bantams as a team were 11-26 on 3-point attempts and forced 20 turnovers. Congratulations on a great tournament and GO BANTAMS!!!

The Clarkston Bantam Girls Basketball team was down by 2 points at the half but could not keep up with the Lynden Lions in the second half and lost 61-43 in the Washington State 2A Basketball semifinals at the Yakima SunDome. Ryann Combs came off the bench to lead the Bantams with 10 points. The Bantams (25-2) will play the Prosser Mustangs for 3rd place tomorrow morning at 11:15. The Clarkston Bantams beat the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats 55-42 in the quarterfinal matchup in the 2A Girls State Basketball Tournament. Eloise Teasley hit a 3 pointer from 25ft out at the buzzer going into halftime to give the Bantams a 29-22 lead at halftime.

Eloise Teasley finished with 15 pts. Kendall Wallace chipped in for 12 pts and Ella Leavitt added 10 pts.

The Bantams face #2 seed Lynden tomorrow in a semi-final matchup at 5:30 pm.

Clarkston beat Enumclaw 62-32 in the opening round of the 2A Girls Basketball State Championship at the Yakima SunDome on Wednesday.

The Bantams jumped out to a 19-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Lexi Villavicencio scored a game high 12 pts and Eloise Teasley had 11 points.

The Clarkston Bantams struggled to shoot the ball and never led as they fell to the Prosser Mustangs 49-43 in the Opening Round of the Washington State 2A Basketball Tournament. Kendall Wallace had 13 points and Eloise Teasley chipped in 12 for the Bantams, who went 3-21 from the 3-point line and 6-14 from the free throw line. The Clarkston Bantams dominated the West Valley Eagles in the District 8 Girls' Basketball Championship at Kramer Gym by a score of 75-31! Four players were in double figures for the Bantams: Kendall Wallace (15); Lexi Villavicencio (14); Eloise Teasley (13); and Ella Leavitt (10). The Bantams (23-0) will play in the Opening Round of the 2A State Tournament on February 23 or 24 at a site to be determined. Their opponent and the rest of the 16-team bracket will be revealed tomorrow morning. The Clarkston Bantam boys were tied at the half and briefly led in the third quarter but the Pullman Greyhounds outscored the Bantams 44-27 in the second half and ended the Bantams' season with a 70-53 win in the semifinals of the District 8 2A basketball tournament. Xander Van Tine led the Bantams with 22 points and Carter Steinwand added 14. The Bantams(11-12) will say goodbye to five seniors: Van Tine, Steinwand, Nathan Somers, Logan Hornby, and Ian Moore. Congratulations on a successful season and GO BANTAMS!!!

The Clarkston Bantams girls defeated the Rogers Pirates 85-23. The Bantams were led by Jaelyn McCormack-Marks with 20 points. Kendall Wallace also added 16 points and Alahondra Perez with 11 points. The Bantams will face the West Valley Eagles on Saturday for the District championship at home in Kramer Gym. Tip time 2:00pm
