The Clarkston Bantams defeated the Shadle Park Highlanders 10-8 in the District 8 softball championship at the Lincoln Middle School ballfields Saturday! The back-and-forth affair finally tipped in the Bantams' favor when they pushed across three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and the defense kept the Highlanders scoreless over the final two frames. The Bantams (21-2) and Highlanders (15-7) both advance to the Washington State 2A tournament in Selah beginning Friday. The 16-team bracket will be revealed Sunday at noon. The Clarkston Bantams defeated the East Valley Knights 3-1 to advance to the District Championship in girls' soccer action at Lincoln Middle School Monday! Junior Becca Skinner had two goals, while senior goalkeeper Eloise Teasley and the defense shut the Knights out in the second half. The Bantams(13-3-1) will travel to Spokane to take on the #1 ranked West Valley Eagles Wednesday at 3pm to determine the#1 and#2 seeds to State out of the GSL. Good luck and GO BANTAMS!!!
The Clarkston Bantams jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and withstood a second half rally by Pullman to defeat the Greyhounds 3-2 in girls' high school soccer action at Lincoln Middle School! Becca Skinner scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner on a beautiful header with 30 seconds to go until halftime (shown in video). Sienna Newhouse, who recently became the Bantams' all-time assists leader, notched an assist (the 34th of her career) and a goal. Becca Skinner tallied both goals for the Bantams(3-0-1), including a beautiful header off of an assist from Sienna Newhouse that turned out to be the game-winner. Congratulations and GO BANTAMS!!!
The Clarkston Bantams and the Lewiston Bengals played to a 2-2 tie in high school girls soccer action at Lincoln Middle School. The annual "pink" game raised money for the Gina Quesenberry Foundation.
The Clarkston Bantams controlled possession and took advantage of numerous scoring opportunities in a convincing 5-1 victory over the Grandview Greyhounds in girls' high school soccer action Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Middle School. The Bantams(1-0) received contributions up and down the lineup, led by junior Becca Skinner, who recently verbally committed to play for the WSU soccer team. She scored twice, as well as Emma Aceveda. Sienna Newhouse also chipped in with a goal, and senior goalkeeper Eloise Teasley was a stalwart at the net, shutting out the Greyhounds in the second half as the Bantams pulled away with three scores of their own. The Clarkston Lady Bantams defeated the Pullman Greyhounds 1-0 in overtime to keep their season alive and advance in the District soccer playoffs in a thrilling matchup at Lincoln Middle School. Defense reigned over the first 90 minutes on a wet pitch and a cool, drizzly day before the Bantams found the back of the net on a corner kick just two minutes into sudden death to end it.
