Collectors have different criteria when it comes to choosing ceramic shards, and the collection of the Instagram-popular pottery enthusiast “Suna no Utsuwa” is particularly distinctive. Among the highlights are a butterfly-like creature painted on an early Imari shard, a distorted circle drawn on a Karatsu fragment, and a drop-shaped shard bearing the character for “夜 night.”
