Not everyone realizes that our animated short, Kapaemahu, is based on a real stone monument in Waikiki. In this photo, Hina was sharing the meaning and hidden history of the moolelo behind the The Healer Stones of Kapaemahu with Sharon Badal of Tribeca, where the film premiered.

On this 7th day of the imposed Gregorian Calendar system in Hawaii, on Sunday, 27 October 2024, instead of succumbing to my perceived fears and anxiety, I choose to be strengthened by the prayers of long life by my kūpuna. I actively choose every moment I have in this light time to pray and act in the dignified manner of my kūpuna—in the manner of all of the kūpuna lines of all my parents within me.
