An ominous, tolling bell.🔔A mysterious cave. Dangerous tides and…elves?!🤯

Get ready for this one, because this is one of the strangest Nancy Drew books I’ve ever read. Nancy almost has another job as a waitress (gasp), a perfume scam takes hold of an east coast town and Ned shows up at random wearing a gas mask.🤣

This was a weird book, but it kept me turning the pages! I hope you’ll tune in for tomorrow’s episode at 9:00am!🎙️
*Trigger Warning: There is, unfortunately, derogatory depictions of people with Dwarfism in this book.🤦🏼‍♀️ So, I tried to do my research accordingly, but wanted to mention that here also so there’s no surprises!*

In this Thursday’s episode of the podcast, we discuss book #22, The Clue in the Crumbling Wall!🏰 A missing person, an inheritance and a spooky castle all fill this week’s mystery.

There’s also a door-to-door clam salesman named Boatswain Botswick Bunpketon (try saying that 5x fast🤣)🦪 and a girl named Joan who goes around stealing plants. So, all in all, a spooky mystery, but also a very entertaining one!

For this week’s mystery, we discuss The Secret in the Old Attic, mystery # 21.📖This is one of my personal favorites and a terrifying read!

Nancy helps her father solve a case surrounding a local fabric making factory and also helps Mr. March locate music composed by his late son Phillip.🎼Strange things are happening in the March home, particularly in the creaking attic and someone is stealing Phillip’s music.

On tomorrow’s episode, we jump right into The Clue in the Jewel Box!💎 Nancy meets a woman who is ex-royalty who fled her country during a rebellion and is now looking for her long lost grandson.

…If any of you all saw the similarities between those sentences and the plot for Twentieth Century Fox’s animated movie Anastasia, I applaud you.👏🏻(And we’ll discuss this more in depth on the episode!)

Nancy has to apprehend pickpockets, many aliases are used, but she still somehow finds time to model in a fashion show.💃🏻This is an interesting one and I hope you all will tune in tomorrow at 9:00am to hear more about it!🎙️

This. Book. What a page turner!🤣Plots against NASA, explosive oranges, alligators and other exotic animals, pools of boiling water—-this one was CRAZY. And so fun to read!

And also, in true Nancy Drew fashion, she can’t ever have a true vacation because she’s either A) Already solving a mystery when she goes to these fun places or B) She finds a mystery once she gets to these fun places🤣

Hello!👋🏻 I’ve seen some new faces around here, so I thought I’d take a second to reintroduce myself!

My name is Avery. I’m from Tennessee, in my 30’s and I love Nancy Drew mysteries!🔎Really, all mysteries, but are what started my love of the genre at 8 years old.

My love for Nancy Drew was reignited back in April 2023 when I went to an estate sale with my dad and bought out nearly 100 Nancy Drew books, most of which were later books I’d never read before!📚I started doing funny, short reviews of the books on social media and then I got to thinking…why not start a podcast? So, in October 2023, I did!🎙️

If you have only ever read the books, I highly recommend playing the games! (You can get them on and they run a lot of sales!😉) It’s “up to you as Nancy Drew” and it’s so fun getting to immerse yourself in a mystery and feel like you’re the famous teen sleuth!🔎

Posting this oldie but a goodie cosplay of me as Nancy from the cover of Secret of the Old Clock!🕰️My hair was super long and dark red back then!❤️

I’ve been toying around with the idea of trying to recreate some of the outfits and looks from the various Nancy Drew covers; I think it would be so fun, since I love to thrift and it would be such a cool challenge!

I really enjoyed rereading this book since it’s been years since I last opened it up! Is this one of your favorites/have you read it? It is actually one of the most highly adapted Nancy Drew stories into movies and tv show episodes of all time!🤯

Also, which of these covers is your favorite? I grew up with the last version, but have to say, the first Russell Tandy version is my favorite!❤️

Happy Halloween!🎃🍂I actually went as from the cover of The Secret of the Old Clock!🕰️ I wore this really cool 1960’s green dress I thrifted and carried this clock, the book and magnifying glass around!🤣My husband went as Harry Houdini since he is actually a magician!🪄
