Cranleigh parkrun is a hidden gem and they don't want you to know about it!! Today it was frozen. Minus 5 degrees when we stepped out of the Film My Run van to run my NENDY. Really glad we came on such a beautiful morning with frost on the trees and the sun shining in a perfect blue sky.

Incorporating Transgrancanaria training with a family day out. I ran up to the summit and back down to meet the family. Then hiked up again. We all love Snowdon. It was a double bonus having great views, sunshine and snow! 🗻❄️😍

Happy New Year to you all!! We travelled to Birkenhead parkrun this morning after only a few hours sleep, haha. I hope your New Years Eve celebrations were good. We’ve been up on Merseyside for a few days and I’ve been out for a few runs. Last night, 22km in the pouring rain. I rounded my annual mileage up to 3500km. We also did Southport parkrun last week.

Let’s make 2025 a superb year. Look after each other, have fun, make memories, work hard and enjoy your running.

Rather a windy one at parkrun this morning. Victoria managed a nice progressive, negative split on the way to her second fastest parkrun of the year. Nice to see a few people before the festivities commence. Merry Christmas everyone.

Wow that was a real adventure. I have never run in such a ferocious storm in all the crazy races I’ve done. Winds stronger than on the top of Ben Nevis, freezing rain worse than that weird Transgrancanaria I did in 2022. But, despite knowing the South Downs pretty well I ran on some trails I’ve never been on before and actually had a great time. In terms of finish time. Well I had been hoping for 10 hours but 11 hours 41 minutes will have to do. Huge thanks to Victoria and Ellis for crewing me and to the two Neil’s at UK Ultra for putting on a great run. It was also lovely to see so many friends and FMR subscribers out there.

Cross Country is grass roots running at the most fundamental level. Tough courses, low cost entry, full on competition, mud, cakes, sweat and team spirit. I was at the Sussex Cross Country League race in Ardingly at the weekend. No filming, just a bit of hard graft with the club.

A great morning down at the Brighton 10k. Always good to see Adam Holland and Joe Wilkinson. Ellis got a second PB of the weekend clocking just over 6 minutes in the Junior Mile race after yesterday’s sub 21 minute parkrun. Victoria was the sweeper for the 10k race, with Lesley and they were inspired by the final finisher, amputee, Mark. I was pleased to get close to 40 minutes which is a course PB.
