75 (in human years) this month! Roughly… since we only have a hazy idea of this lovely boy’s back story - hit by a car and found roadside in Ireland at around 3 months old, probably wandered off from a farm and his family 💔 Rescued, fixed up (but has always had a limp) and brought to a foster home in Sussex, where I went looking for a four-legged housemate about 14 years ago, and where he bounced out from a gang of dogs playing in the garden and barrelled towards me, saying (with his eyes - he’s never been a barker, except in his sleep): “Hi! Hi! Hi! It’s me!!” Thank you for choosing me Reggie. We ❤️ you!

At the kitchen-warming party of in her beautiful Georgian house in Deal. Especially loving the dreamy / built by her talented partner / our friend Neil, who also made all our lovely ply cabinetry. Zoom in and enjoy the orange paintwork, which is flecked with other colours and has the effect of speckled Formica. So so nice.

Absolutely loved the National Trust’s which John Nash designed before getting all famous and Buckingham Palace-y. Felt like its owners had just popped out. Was a bit obsessed with the kitchens… And loved the story about one of its 19th century owners, Mary Ashby Mettam, who ran the estate with generosity from the mid 1800s after being widowed young by a modern-thinking husband whose will allowed her to manage it until her death in 1917, aged 104. Nice anecdote about how she treated two young staff discovered to have fallen in love, by building them a house in the grounds. Which are lovely… a very pretty lake with giant reeds, woodland, a courtyard made from pebbles and a still very well-run kitchen garden, from which produce was available at the shop. Brilliant cafe, too, with chairs and tables on the grass and under trees, spilling off the terrace. Also much fun for children - free balance bikes, a large play kitchen, a wooden activity course, and rug beaters lying around in the courtyard with a rug to practise on…

Things this weekend in the charity shop I did not buy (because I’m meant to be decluttering 😂) but wish I had. This could be a regular feature (of my life). An incomplete set - like most things in our house- but just look at the pattern and colours 😍😍😍

I’m looking after TV while my colleague looks after her beautiful new baba. And this was where I spent the morning shooting the new episode, chatting about a gorgeous house inspired by some serious Malibu Beach colours and details. Lovely morning’s work! The sun even came out 🌞
